4days passed by, Adi had completely recovered and was back to her normal routine. Shlok started with his college and evening he used to take classes so that Adi got some time for herself. Night time he studies hard for his exams. Adi used to stay awake with him most of the times though he insisted her to sleep. She used to make him coffee so that he stayed awake. Their love was just growing with times. They had their share of lovey dovey moments and passionate nights during weekends.
Jitna pyar hai aapse, usse aur jyada pane ko jee chahta hai,
Jaane kaunsi khubi hai aap mein,
Ki har rishta aapse banane ko jee chahta hai….

It was just a week for Shlok’s birthday. Adi was very excited cz it was his 1st bday with her and they would be together. Just like him, she too had planned 21 surprises for him right from a day earlier, i.e. 26th evening till 11.59pm on 27th Mar. She had requested the kids to put in some extra time during weekend as she would be taking an off for that day.
On 26th morning, Adi was in a completely different mood. She finished off with her routine and woke up Shlok at 9. As usual, he pulled her in his arms and made her lie down besides him for 5mins and then kissed her forehead.
Once he freshened up, Adi served him breakfast, over which he asked her,
Shlok: Kal ka kya plan hai Adi?
Adi: Kal? Kal kya hai Shlok?
Shlok was sad cz he thought Adi had forgotten his birthday. They had discussed their birthdays only once, after that the topic never came up. He wanted to remind her of the same, but how?
Adi: Kya hua Shlok? You look lost. Anything important tomorrow? Cz I will be busy as usual with my classes and all. On top of that, I am going out with Bhabhi for some shopping. Anand is getting married next week, so we were planning to buy a gift for him.
Shlok muttered, duniya bhar ka bday n shaadi yaad hai, ek pati ka bday tak yaad nahi. Socha tha bahar jayenge, movie dekehnge, khana khayenge, sab pani me mila diya Adi ne.
‘Shlok, you want to say something?’
He got up with a sad face and said, ‘Kuch baatein bina bole hi samajh leni chahiye, chodo, you will never understand’.
Adi smiled to herself and followed him to the kitchen. ‘Shlok aap paheliyon mein baat mat kijiye. Please be clear’.
He got frustrated and said, ‘Forget it Adi. I have to leave early today, and I will be coming late as Avi has invited me for his cousin’s BIRTHDAY party’.
He stressed on the word birthday.
Adi: Ohh, so you will have your dinner there?
Shlok: Yes, don’t bother to cook for me in the night.
He left an hour early from home feeling upset about it. I hope at least Mom, Pappa and Baa remembers my birthday. And Hina Di too never forgets to wish me. Once they wish, Adi will realize and wish me too, that time maybe we can plan something.
Once Adi was done with tuitions, she started with the preparations. Shlok went with Avi and his cousin to a fast food joint where he just had a sandwich and juice. He wanted to go home early but Avi kept him occupied as promised to Adi.
He called up Adi while leaving from there and she said that she was out with Sakshi.
Adi: Shlok, I hope you have the house keys with you. I will be back in an hour.
Shlok didn’t reply and disconnected the call in disappointment.
He returned home at 10 and as soon as he opened the door, and there he was showered with red rose petals on him which was his 1st surprise. He was flabbergasted, cz the entire house was decorated with candles and rose petals. There were few candles lit on the way to the kitchen.
He called out to Adi…but she was nowhere to be found. He entered the kitchen to find a note which said, ‘Hope you liked the surprise, many more awaiting for you to explore…..the hint was Dining table’.
