3.5YEARS LATER
The Mehta residence was a complete chaos. It was just a week before Diwali. Sumi and Bakuben were busy in the kitchen making Diwali faral, whereas Ketu and Baa were busy packing the items that they had to carry with them.
Hina’s in-laws were not in town, hence she decided to come to Thane to celebrate Diwali with her family.
The doorbell rang and both the kids AdiSh and AdiSha who were watching TV, ran to open the door screaming on top of their voice, ‘Fiyu aavi gai, Ved bhai aavi gayo’. (Father’s sister is called Fui/Fiya in gujarati, the kids called Hina Fiyu)
But were upset seeing the grocery fellow. AdiSha went running to Ketu and asked, ‘Dadu, Fiyu kyare aavse?’ (When will fiya come)
Ketu: Aavse beta, thodi var haji. (Will come in some time)
AdiSha: Dadu, Fiya ne phone to karo. (call her)
This was the 6th time she had made him call Hina.
Baa laughed and said, ‘Ekdum Shlok jevi utavdi che. Ane AdiSh mari Adi jevo shaant’. (She is just like Shlok and my AdiSh is just like my Adi, calm)
The doorbell rang again, this time again both of them ran assuming it to be Hina, but Shlok and Adi entered with 4 huge bags full of gifts followed by 2 more guys carrying few huge bags full.
AdiSha went to Shlok and asked, ‘Papu, Fiya??’
Adi: Baby, pappa ne andar to aava de. Fiya aavse. (Let your dad come in, fiya will come)
AdiSha then went to the kitchen and pulled Sumi’s pallu, ‘Dadi, Fiya ne phone karo ne please’.
Sumi: Betu dadu ne k, hu busy chu. (M busy, tell dadu)
AdiSha made a sad face and said, ‘Dadu nathi karta’. (Dadu is not calling)
Sumi screamed from the kitchen, ‘Shlok…. call Hina and check where has she reached and how much more time? Poor kids are waiting since morning’.
Shlok: Mom, let me sit for a while please. M exhausted.
Sumi: Then tell pappa to call her.
AdiSha went and sat on Shlok’s lap, took out his cell from his pocket and gave it to him. Shlok gave a peck on her cheek and dialed Hina. AdiSha snatched the phone from his hand and waited for Hina to answer.
Hina: Bol Shlok.
Adisha cutely asked, ‘Fiyuuu…kya che? Kyare aavis?’ (Where are you and when will u reach)
Hina: Bas 10mins beta.
AdiSha: Okk bye.
AdiSh too came and sat on the other side of Shlok’s lap and asked her, ‘Su boli Fiya?’
AdiSha tapped her hand on her head and said, ‘Papu, bhai ma patience nathi’.
Adi smiled and said, ‘Look whose talking’.
She freshened up and went to the kitchen to help Sumi and Bakuben.
Adi: Mummyji, you please go and sit, I will manage it now.
Sumi: Adi, you go and sit. How much you want to work. Last night you were awake till 1.30. That time also you didn’t let anyone of us help you. Morning again you are up since 5 preparing breakfast and lunch, then marketing, now please go and sit.
She called for Shlok….
Shlok was sitting peacefully with Ketu and Baa, he muttered, ‘Yaar aa Mogambo shanti thi beswa nathi deti’.
AdiSha inquisitively asked him, ‘Papu, Mogambo kaun che?’
AdiSh also asked, ‘Papa, dadu bhi bol rahe the jab hum so nahi rahe the tabhi bole, Mogambo aa jayegi so ja. Kaun hai Mogambo Papa?’
All the 3 laughed.
Ketu called them and said, ‘Kitchen me jake apni Mumma se pucho’.
Shlok: Yaar pappa, marvane ka kaam mat karo. Adi sochegi maine sikhaya.
Till then the kids were already in kitchen.
They unanimously asked her, ‘Mumma, Mogambo kaun hai? Kaha rehta hai?’
Adi’s heart skipped a beat. She was embarrassed, cz she knew Sumi was aware that Shlok, Baa and Papa called her Mogambo.
She annoyingly looked at them and said, ‘Beta, wo TV me ek uncle aate hain, unka naam Mogambo hai’.
