Shayaris are not my lines.
Adi woke up in the middle of the night, half asleep. She crawled in Shlok’s arms and fell asleep again. When Shlok woke up, her head on his chest. He cuddled her and was awake for almost an hour, listening to her peaceful breathing.

Days just passed by monotonously, with Adi taking Yoga and tuition classes with her baking orders and Shlok busy preparing himself for his final exams.
They daily used to make a video call to Baa and keep her updated. Baa wanted to meet them but was hesitant to go. She always reminded Ketu to check on the Guruji, but all in vein.
Ketu too was frustrated cz after Shlok’s birthday, Sumi never interacted much with Shlok. It was just for that particular day that she treated him well, after that she was back to normal.
One afternoon Adi was busy working in the kitchen when her intercom buzzed.
Adi: Hello.
The lady on the other end panicked and said, ‘Bhabhi, aap jaldi aao, dekho aunty ko kya ho gaya hai’.
Adi asked, ‘Aap kaun bol rahe hai? Kaunsi aunty?’
‘Bhabhi main Usha bol rahi hoon 1001 se, aapki saas ko kuch ho gaya hai, jaldi aao’.
Adi freaked. She just left everything as it is and left hurriedly carrying only her phone n the house keys. On the way to 10th floor, she dialed Shlok, but he didn’t answer as he kept his cell on silent while in lectures. She tried Ketu, but his phone was not reachable. That is when she recollected that he was not in town for 3 days.
She reached and saw Sumi lying on the floor motionless, staring at the ceiling. Though she was in her senses, she couldn’t move or speak. The maid was rubbing her hands and calling out her name.
Adi was scared seeing her like that. She immediately dialed Dr. Salve on interncom, who was not at home. She instantly booked an Uber and asked the maid to get a huge bedsheet. She called up Sakshi and informed her about the same and asked her to come if she can. Sakshi too came immediately to her aide. Adi with the help of Sakshi and the maid, lifted Sumi in the bedsheet and got her down and put her in the cab which was already waiting for them. She asked the cab fellow to wait and went and got her wallet from home. Sakshi too accompanied her to the hospital.
They drove down to Bethany hospital and took Sumi to the casualty. There the doctors attended her immediately.
Adi with tears running down her cheeks, asked the doctor on duty, ‘What has happened to her doctor?’
Doctor said, ‘Let us check on her. If you look at her closely, her right-side muscles are stretched. It looks like a stroke or a paralytic attack’.
Adi was terrified to hell listening to the doc. ‘Please doctor do something asap, we can’t…’
The sister didn’t let her complete and asked them to wait outside, ‘Let the doctor check, you all can wait outside, we will see’.
‘Sorry, I am not leaving her and going anywhere’, said Adi while tears still flowing from eyes.
The doctor requested Sakshi to take Adi out. Sakshi held Adi by her arms and said, ‘Don’t worry beta, she will be fine. Let the doctors do their job, come, will sit out’.
They went and sat out and she again dialed Shlok’s number which went unanswered. She then decided to leave a message on his cell to call her back.
She dialed Ketu, but his cell was not reachable yet. She left a message on his cell as well asking him to call back urgently.
She then thought of calling up Baa and informing her but was not sure, cz Baa will get tensed unnecessarily. Sakshi could sense her dilemma.
Sakshi: Adi, cool down beta. Let the doctors examine her. Bina matlab abhi se sabko tension mat de. Hina aur Baa itni dur hai ki na wo yaha immediately aa payengi aur na aaye bina reh payengi. Same with your FIL, wo bhi tension me aa jayenge. And when you talk to Shlok, don’t panic. He will ride his bike in tension which is not good.
