Sakshi was waiting with the thali for dwar pooja. The wedding was taking place as per the Gujrati rituals. Baa had already briefed Sakshi was she needs to do for Dwar pooja.
Rest of Adi’s friends from the dance academy, shilpa, nesha, mital, kalpu, vandana, richa, laveena, poonam, sneha, rimple were all gaping at Shlok.
They all too wanted to shake a leg on the band, so they requested Baa if they can dance a little more and then do the dwar pooja. Baa agreed to them and the band started again.
They all pulled Shlok as well to dance with them. Here Shlok’s side of girls also wanted to dance with Shlok. So they pulled Shlok in their group to dance.
At one point of time, it so happened that it was kind of a tug of war between them. Both the gangs were trying to pull Shlok towards them.
Sakshi came in between them and said, ‘Girls please, kuch bhi kar lo wo Adi ka hai aur uska hi rahega. Iske liye jhagadke koi matlab nahi hai’.
Baa too said, ‘Bicara no hath jhalai jase, chalo bas thayo dance, Adi andar wait karti hase’.
Sakshi did the dwar pooja, i.e. the arrival of the groom called Ponkhvu in Gujarati. The groom is welcomed by his MIL at the entrance by performing Aarti and playfully grabs his nose. This tradition reminds the groom that he has come rubbing his nose at their door asking for their daughter’s hand in marriage.
This was followed by Jaimala. The bride comes out and exchanges the garlands with her groom. The groom is traditionally lifted higher than the bride during this exchange. This is done by the groom’s friends to show that the bride cannot take him from his friends and family.
Sakshi asked Shilpa and Vandana to go and get Adi.
Shlok’s friends started teasing him cz now his eyes were set on the way by which Adi was to arrive.
In 5mins, Shilpa and Vandana got Adi, she was draped in red and white Panetar with her head covered in red colored chunari.
Shlok’s heart skipped a beat on seeing her in that attire. She looked breathtakingly beautiful fully decked up from head to toe. Though half of her face was covered with the Ghunghat, he could see her luscious red lips and the big round nose ring.
She was so shy and nervous that she did not bother to lift her gaze and look around. She knew that Shlok must be gaping at her and she could feel his gaze, but she did not dare to look up.
Milind handed over the varmala to her, and as soon as she tried putting it, Shlok’s friends lifted him high. Now it was a matter of pride for the girl’s side as well, but Adi’s side except for Milind, all were aged. Ketu moved towards Adi’s side and said, ‘Chalo Milind uthao Adi beti ko, hum bhi kuch kam nahi hai’.
Adi heard Ketu’s voice and was filled with emotions seeing him. She lifted the Ghunghat and gulping down the lump in her throat she asked, ‘Pappa aap…aap kab aaye? Mummyji kahan hai?’
Ketu said, ‘Abhi thodi der pehle hi aaya beta. Mummyji apne bhai ke ghar Surat gai hai’.
Adi: Aap unko akele chod kea a gaye?
Ketu: Beta tumhari Mummyji akeli nahi hai, uske bhai-bhabhi hai uske sath. Shlok ke liye ek baar soch bhi leta, lekin meri beti ki shaadi mein kaise nahi aata. Tu mujhe dekh ke khush nahi hai?’
Adi was overwhelmed she burst out into tears and hugged Ketu. The entire crowd got emotional seeing their bond and all eyes were wet.
Shlok too went and put his one arm around Ketu and the other one around Adi. It was sight to behold. Vish instantly captured the moment in her cell.
Ketu: Chalo bhai, shaadi ka mahurat nikal jayega agar hum aise hi rote rahe to.
Everyone started moving in, when Deepa got a call on her cell. She said, ‘What? Wow..wait am coming on the gate’.
Geeta asked, ‘What happened? Kiska call tha?’
Deepa: Guess what?
Rest of the girls said, ‘Yaar bata na jalkdi, itna suspense create kar rakha hai’.
Deepa: Gate pe chalo, apne aap dekh lo.
Barkha: Kya yaar Deeps, chalo jaldi.
They reached the gate and all screamed together, ‘Kavi….’
They all went and hugged her and asked, ‘You said you wont be able to make it’.
Kavita: Bas, aisi hi hoon main, mood bana, aa gai. Vishakha ke bhai ki shaadi thi, kaise nahi aati. Aur jab yaha taka a gai to socha ye shaddi bhi attend kar lu. Bhavi ne kal raat ko bataya tha. Chalo ab andar chalo. Bride and groom se milke nikalte hain.
She asked, ‘Where is Muskaan?’
Supriya: She coudnt make it. Uske gharpe renovation chal raha hai. But you never know, subah se yaha surprise entries ho rahe hain, shayad wo bhi tapak pade.
