Numb

Chapter 1

Author Note: This is only my first story, so if you have some advice I would be happy to hear it! Also, if you don't like how I write the girls, don't read, I do my best but sometimes I have to do something out of character to make the story work. Anyways, on with the story!

Lisa's POV

The sound of my alarm registers in my ears. My hand scrambles to find my phone, and I finally turn the incessant noise off. I lay there with my eyes still closed for a second, then open them.

I sigh and sit up. I get dressed and head downstairs. I walk into the kitchen and see Christina already eating. I grab a banana and sit down across the table from her. We ask each other the usual, "How did you sleep?" And proceed to eat our breakfasts. Soon, Katherine and Amy walk in. They both grab something to eat and sit down.

At this point, Christina has finished eating and looks at all of us. "Okay, now that we are all here we can talk about today's schedule," Christina says.

We nod reluctantly as she continues, "First, Lisa you need to finish editing the videos that go up this weekend, it is already Thursday and you haven't even started. Katherine, you and Amy need to check all the band's social networking platforms, and respond to some fans. I am going to start working on arranging the harmonies for next week's cover. Everyone got that?" We all nod again, and she gets up and walks to the music room.

We look at each other and roll our eyes a little, and Amy cracks a joke about Drill Sergeants, but we all know that without Christina we would never get as much done.

I finish my breakfast, and head up to my room to work on the editing. I've been putting it off, sometimes I get tired of it. I work for a couple hours, and finish the first video. I decide to reward myself with a snack break. After grabbing some chips from downstairs, I sit on my bed and scroll through some of our YouTube comments. Most of them are positive, but there are always the haters. I try to ignore them though. After a little bit, I get back to editing. I'm halfway through the second video when I hear the front door open and close downstairs, I check the time and realize that it is 3:45. That means that Lauren and Dani are here.

I decide to take a quick break and head down to see them. We talk a little, and then Dani goes to find Amy. Lauren and I head back up to my room, and she suggests little things while I finish editing the video.

Lauren and I have always been pretty close, she knows the most about me out of all my sisters. That isn't really saying much though, I don't open up all that easily. I hear laughing coming from the room across the hall, Amy's room. Lauren turns her head, I say, "You should go over there, see what has them so riled up." I try to smile convincingly, but she sees right through it. Lauren frowns, then says, "Okay Lisa, what's going on. You've been quieter than usual today." I shrug. "I'm fine" ,she just shakes her head and leaves my room. She knows I am not going to say anything.

She is right though, I am not feeling all that good today. It is one of my numb days, where I don't really feel much of anything. Sometimes I like that, but other times it can really suck. Sure, I don't feel like crap, but I don't feel happy either. I know tonight is going to be a bad night. I hear more laughing across the hall, and decide to go see what is so funny.
