Chapter Twenty-Two
Saviour
Part One
Lukas looked down at an unconscious Samia. "I can save her."
Everyone breathed the heaviest and loudest sigh of relief since they found out Letitia was still alive. Now she was here, in the Hall, seemingly under some kind of spell, under orders to kill whoever got in her way of finding the Shield, or Toby. Unfortunately Samia had got in her way.
"How long will she need to rest?" Jovah asked the Warlock doctor.
"A week or so, as long as she has a drink of this every morning." He handed Jovah a large pink jar. Inside was a cloudy substance, watery and very pungent. "It'll heal her more every day, but make sure she gets it. Otherwise the wound won't heal at all." He left Samia's bedside and stood to the side with Jovah. "What does this mean for your trip to Helroute?"
"I have no idea, Lukas. But thank you for coming on such short notice." Jovah nodded and smiled.
"No problem. I had nothing else to do to be honest. Other than sit in front of the fire and watch countless 'soap operas' with the girlfriend." He widened his eyes. A sign that he would rather be here than there.
Kirstie, still with her hair a mess, a bruise forming under her right eye and a slash across her cheek, walked towards the bed where Samia lay. "Will we go to Helroute without her?" She looked worried.
"That's something I will have to discuss with Hanson and Hagan." Jovah said. He patted Lukas on the shoulder and mouthed the words 'thank-you'.
Lukas walked out into the hallway.
"Look, guys. I think a few of us should go. See if Toby is there. Then wait until we are all ready to fight, including our Samia, then plan the attack. We need a strategic and planned attack. Something Limus will not be expecting. Something... Different."
"Different?" Ben asked.
"Yes. Instead of just storming in there, we need to form an army." Jovah's old eyes seemed to be glinting. "And I know just the guys for it."
After Lukas had left, Jovah had finished his mysterious conversation in the office, it was only then that Skarlet said. "So, if that was not really Andrei, but in fact Letitia. Where is Andrei?"
Everyone in the room seemed to have the same idea at the same time and all headed towards the main hall, to get to the staircase that wound its way upwards to the first floor of bedrooms.
Racing down the corridor and round the corner at the end Tria was ahead of everybody. Until they came to Andrei's door, which turned out to be locked, everyone was hopeful they would find him safe and well.
Jayden and Cody, being the biggest of the guys there at that moment, shoulder-barged the door several times until it violently crashed to the floor with a thud.
"Andrei? Are you in here?" Cody called as he looked around the room. The bathroom door was closed so he swung that open rather violently too.
Andrei was sat tied up in the bath. His hands behind his back, and cloth around his mouth and nose. He had a lump forming on the right side of his forehead and his eyebrow was cut and had left blood trickling down his face, already dry and crusty in some places.
"Well, at least you're alive, mate." Jayden said, helping Cody pull Andrei out of the bath and started to untie the rope around his wrists and ankles. The cloth had been tied so tight they had to cut it off with Jayden's knife.
