Chapter Seventeen.
Kaine and Jayden's Investigation
Part One
Hollie and Kay were helping the girls unpack, Missie and Charlie, and Ben was helping the boys, Lars, Tommy, and Jonathan. They'd finally made it to the Hall in Turran but hadn't seen much of this town yet. They had come straight here. It was almost identical to the Hall in Aura, just a little bigger, and with less scary statues in the gardens. They ate, showered, and then headed down to the training hall which, unlike in Aura, was inside the Hall. Much warmer too. Which they soon found out to be a bad thing. "Why didn't we wait until after training to shower?" Missie said.
"I have no idea, but I'm too tired to have another. I'd probably fall asleep in the shower." Tommy said.
He is a good-looking dude, Missie thought, despite the fact she was supposed to be dating Lars. But he had been cold with her recently. Tommy was twenty years old tall, around fix foot three, his almost-white hair was messy and almost shoulder-length. He had bright blue eyes, pale skin, with a light sprinkling of freckles.
Whereas Lars what completely the opposite; tanned skin, shaved short hair, almost black in colour, and he was a lot shorter, around five foot eight. Missie had never had a type, but she was so struck by Tommy's appearance, she almost forgot Lars was in the room. Until he shouted her name.
She spun around, and their eyes locked, he gestured for her to come over. "Excuse me. Lars wants me."
Tommy simply nodded and got back to weight training.
"What did he want?" Lars asked even before Missie had got to him.
"I was just saying that it was a stupid idea to shower before training. I mean, look at me. I'm bloody dripping with sweat." Missie said.
"Right... And now he's probably imagining you in the shower. Well done." He stood from the bench where he had been sitting with a bottle of water, and walked by her, heading towards Tommy. Oh God, please don't start fighting.
Instead he shoved by Tommy, only knocking him slightly. Lars may have been smaller than Tommy, but he was stocky, and well-built.
Great.
Missie left the training hall, running, trying to catch up with Lars. He was halfway down the stone walled, marble floored corridor. She called his name and he turned, a face like thunder. "What the hell was that all about?" She asked."I don't even know. Sometimes I just get this surge of hate towards people. That's why I just leave because I'm scared of what I will do."
"Maybe you should see someone. Because you have been like this for a few days, and it's mainly directed at me, or someone I talk to. Even if I just say 'hello' to someone." She sighed. "Lars, I like you. I want us to work out, but you've got to stop this whole jealousy thing."
Lars just sighed and walked away.
Well screw you, then.Part Two.
Kaine and Jayden sat back in Kaine's new room in Corodin. "All I can say is I'm glad we're not in Ayda. Those statues always gave me the creeps anyw-""So, you and Skarlet, yeah?" Kaine interrupted.
"Sorry?"
"It's a well-known fact now. There is a thing going on there. How's it going?" Kaine asked.
"Uh, okay... I think."
"You think?"
"Well since the night we kissed we have not really spoken much about what is actually happening. I do not wanna believe she thinks it was a mistake, but I do not want to go assuming there is something there when there might not be. Make sense?"
