The avatars lit up and mine immediately took off at a run. It raced through the concrete structure, looking to locate weaponry. Falling upon a stash, I loaded up on grenades and a loaded needler. I could see Jins' icon approaching. I tucked my character behind a column and unloaded the needler in his direction. He returned fire, dodging for cover. Ammo out, I dropped the gun, threw a grenade and ran again. I veered just as a grenade exploded to my right.
"You play dirty!" I exclaimed, inciting Jins' laughter. He looked me right in the eye and his thumb hit the button releasing another. "Whoa!" I stirred my Avatar into action again, running up a ramp, the cruelly laughing demon hot on my tail. There was a stash just ahead. Littered in this pile was a missile launcher. I ran back to the ramp and blasted the full ammo capacity at Jins' avatar.
He physically jumped, and leaned hard onto me as he led his Avatar into evasive maneuvers. Mine threw the gun, 2 more grenades, and jumped down to a lower ledge. "You are going to die." Jin muttered under his breath, his split screen revealing the cache of ammo he was loading up on. I had no gun but 4 grenades still in my arsenal.
"Bring it on, punk." I replied, braver than I ought to be. My Avatar stepped into the main clearing of the game arena. "I need a gun...I need a gun...I need a gun..." My mantra got louder, goaded on by the unsympathetic chuckles from the evil man sitting next to me. I led my Avatar out from its' hiding place. When Jin smirked viciously, tapping a button and turning to see the reaction on my face, I knew I had to retreat. Sure enough, a bomb blew up right in the spot I had vacated.
"You are on the ledge! You scurv, SeokJin-nim!" He threw his head back, delighted at his domination over me. My eyes ran over his throat, bared, curving over his Adams' apple and beckoning down to the neckline of his sweater. His eyes opened and he laughed at my scowl, gloating. "How could someone so beautiful be so cruel?" I shot at him. He grinned, leaping his Avatar down to pursue me.
"It isn't my fault I am WorldWide Handsome." He leered. I shook my head at him. His character was only a few steps behind mine, frantically searching for something...ANYTHING to use against him. There had to be something...a frying pan, even? Jin was soaking it in, his volume escalating as he closed the distance between us. My avatar ran into a wall, I followed it to the right, then went to turn around. That is when I noticed how quiet it was.
Jins' avatar was standing there, all military-like in its' stoic stance, staring me down through the barrel of a gun. The actual me slowly turned my head, lips pinched together. The grinning goon beside me wasn't military in the least. His eyebrow was lifted, his teeth bared in a cocky grin of smug superiority.
"I don't even have a gun." I flatly complained.
"You have grenades."
"That would kill us both in here." His smile grew broader.
"Looks like I could win it right here, or allow the newbie a tiny chance." I dropped my shoulders and stuck my tongue out at him. Jins' booming laugh shook his body against mine. I gave him the dirtiest of glares, then changed tactics.
"Then I guess you would win." I leaned towards him, my face suddenly serious, my voice velvet with sensual possibility. His squeaking laughter still had him bouncing. "Are you planning to kiss my cheek?" I leaned my cheek close to his mouth. The laughter abruptly stopped. His face flashed from cajoling to a startled astonishment. "Or were you going to be brave enough to kiss me on the lips?" Whispering, I pushed even closer to him, our lips only millimetres apart, breathing in each others' breath. His tousled hair was brushing against my forehead. Jin froze. I held my eyes on his, dropping my right hand from my controller onto his crossed thigh. I both saw and heard the startled intake of his surprised breath. "I have been dying to kiss you, Kim SeokJIn-Nim..." I whispered to his full lips. He swallowed. My hand slid slowly towards his knee, then up to his arm, to his biceps, then back down to his wrist. I stole a quick glance down, sighting in my target. "What is your choice, Master Jin?" I dragged my eyes back up to his face, still frozen between shock and indecision.
