Just after noon, the main food prep was done. I had thrown together a quick snack type plate for wraps to hold SeokJin over til supper. I was quickly washing the dishes up and he was drying when the door sounded and he went to greet the guys who had arrived.
"Telly!" Taehyung came and gave me a big hug. He looked too beautiful for reality, with the one monolid, one double lidded eye, boxy grin and constant aura of child-like delight.
"Hey, V." I hugged him back.
"I am V now, am I? We had "the talk", did we?" Jin blushed. I laughed.
"I already knew. I have known you guys long before we met."
"I told you she was smart. You should have been straight with her from the beginning." He ruffled Jins' hair, getting his hand slapped away with indignation. V chortled. "Sorry, hyung, but you know I am always right about girls." It was then that I saw that he was not alone. A light-haired man had followed Tae into the kitchen and was standing back, shyly, in his stylish jeans and long-sleeved shirt and dangly earrings. My breath caught.
"Jimin!" His eyes immediately crinkled up into crescents, delighted with my recognition of him. He bowed and I reciprocated. "Nice to meet you, Park Jimin-Nim." Yeontan came tearing into the kitchen, hell-bent on running wild circles around V.
"Are you done peeing outside? Good boy! Where is Hoseok?" Tae bent down to scoop up the bouncing pompom.
"Right here." A deep voice sounded as Hoseok rounded the corner into the kitchen. "He peed." His eye caught mine. "Who is this? Is this her?"
"Ay, Telly, meet my other brother, Jung..."
"Hoseok." I finished for him, stepping forward to bow to the lean man who smelled of polished wealth. Apparently no one had told him that lounging clothes did not have to be brand name and include accessories that marked him as a man of very high quality style. After the bow, he held both hands out to shake. I gladly took them. "My goodness, how is it possible that you are all this beautiful in real life?" When they grinned and Jimin flushed red again, but with obvious thrill at my words, I realized that I had voiced them out loud. Now I blushed and they giggled. Jin tucked his arm over my shoulder and let me hide my face in his wide chest. "Sorry."
Hoseok and V laughed heartily.
"Not at all. It is nice to be appreciated. You look pretty good yourself." Jin chucked my chin at this. My cell phone pinged.
"The children are up." V's hand shot up.
"I can go pick them up!" Jin looked at me, questioning.
"OK. That would be great. Thank you." He was already sliding his feet back into his shoes. He stopped at the door.
"Jimin; want to come?" Jimin glanced at me, I nodded.
"Sure. Need us to pick anything up?" Jin checked in the fridge and then gave the boys a couple of things to grab on the way. I frantically texted the children.
"Cher: be ready. A friend is coming to pick you up. Make sure that you are dressed nice and everyone is on their best behaviour."
"Ok, Eomma. Should I wear my Lion King shirt? What are we doing today?"
"Having dinner with friends. Not the Lion King shirt. Dress up."
"Dress up? Why?"
"Trust me. And hurry."
"Why?"
"GET OFF THE PHONE AND HURRY."
"Ok."
