Episode 4 of Celebrity Blind Date was focused on the emotion of "Happiness." This time Jimin and Hoseok had joined us for a viewing. The show opened with a pre-recorded interview in which both Jin and Diva defined happiness. Jin waxed poetic about friendships that had developed into much more. Family born of familiarity. His features lit up with the mention of his brothers and the times they shared. He was wearing the bracelet then and it etched a permanent smile on my face when Hobi tapped mine and bobbed his head approvingly. I looked up onto the little couch behind me, where Éowynn and Jimin sandwiched Cher. Hoseok was seated beside me on the floor, Brigette seated on his crossed legs. Atticus brought another bowl of popcorn and slid to his belly by me, propping his chin on his hands.

Diva defined happiness in terms of material gains. She listed her happiest moments as getting her first car at 16, being rewarded for good grades with a shopping spree...to Diva; purchasing power put the smile on her face. I turned to Hoseok, curious to gauge his reaction. For a man who took pride in his carefully selected, brand name accessories, he still glowered at the indulgence. Unlike this manufactured celebrity, born into excessive affluence; each member of BTS had sweated, bled and shed tears for every dollar now sitting in their wallet. Every luxury they boasted now was hard earned, and valued for the effort it had taken to get. Hoseok shook his head at the pampered princess on the screen. Dazzled by extravagance, Diva showed no respect for the fine quality items she used as envy-inducing badges.

Once their happiness factors were determined, Jin and Diva were treated to a tropical spa day on a Hawaiian beach, complete with massage and snorkelling. After a delicious looking lunch bedecked with umbrella-laden tropical drinks. Diva was then presented with a prepaid card and a chauffeur. The next several scenes were of her, delightedly scouring store after store along the boardwalk as Jin good-naturedly trudged along behind, carrying her bags and offering opinions on items, though they were largely ignored. She purchased more than her weight in clothing, many accessories, 2 purses, shoes, and a hat. In the last few minutes, she added another hat, a dapper looking fedora, for Jin as thanks for his help. He looked great in it. That irritated me to no end.

At the commercial, Hoseok and Jimin made guesses about JIns' happiness.

"Hugs." Jimin guessed. "Jins' a hugger."

"So they will bring out a big line of people to hug him?" Atticus asked. We all had a good giggle at that.

"I would think it would be food. Perhaps they are sending him to a nice restaurant." Hobi suggested. "But he mentioned friends. So maybe a video call too?"

Brigette chimed in. "Maybe he will call you, Hobi-Nim. You should keep your phone on." Hoseok grinned down at the brunette on his lap, his angular jaw widening as he took a mouthful of popcorn.

Jimin shook his head.

"This was filmed days ago. He didn't call."

The commercial break ended and we all turned our attention back to the screen. Jin was seated on a beach towel in the hot sand, talking to the camera as our own dear Taehyung strolled up from behind him.

"So that was why he left early..." Jimin was incredulous. V had managed to hide this secret from everyone. Even Jin had not known and the whooping that ensued when the brothers laid eyes on each other warmed me inside. They hugged and cheered and hugged again. Tae politely introduced himself to Diva and she was shockingly polite. I admitted to myself that I was disappointed. Thus far, she had been so easy to despise and I was hoping she would continue that. Jin said she wasn't so bad once you got to know her...I didn't want to get to know her. I didn't want Tae to get to know her. I wanted this show to end so I could have my man back.
