Moving Day

"It's 10am! Let's do this!" Cher opened the door to Namjoon and Hoseok grinning at our threshold. "The truck is here already!"

I set down my water bottle to give hugs to the two handsome men already hoisting boxes into their arms. Both were in sleeveless tanks and shorts. I thanked Seoul for that lovely May sunshine that afforded such a view. As Hoseok opened the door to let Namjoon out with his first armful, Jimin, Yoongi and Jungkook strolled in.

"Noona, everyone..." JK bowed shyly, immediately loading boxes onto Jimin.

Once Jimin exited, he turned to Yoongi, who stepped back, arms up.

"I am supervising." He objected. Jungkook smirked and held the box until his Hyung took it. He then loaded himself with a tower that swayed as he weaved through everything to the door.

Namjoon was already reloading. I sent the Nerd Herd out with the keys and arms as full as they could handle. Brigette was propping the door open.

"Jin Hyung is filming that commercial with Diva." Hoseok explained. "Otherwise, we would have roped him into helping too."

I smiled at him.

"That's ok. But he is going to miss out on the dinner I treat you all to afterwards."

Jungkook had just come back through the door.

"Dinner? Come on, guys; let's get moving!" He glimpsed my bagel as he passed the island and doubled back, longing apparent in his doe eyes.

I laughed.

"Eat it. I need to pack the plate."

One long, muscled arm reached for the bread, followed by a sigh of desire fulfilled. This poor man was a walking stomach.

Éowynn was hauling our bagged clothes to the entrance, Cher had Thistle and Hagrid kennelled, a tote of all business papers and paraphernalia being lugged to the living room. The fast pace was steadfastly filling the rented truck. As quickly as Yoongi and I lifted off the mattress to my bed, Namjoon and Jungkook had the frame out the door.

At 11 o'clock, just one hour in, Atticus announced all rooms empty. Cher and I were scrubbing the rooms as we vacated them. There were few rooms, and we had maintained them well, so our task was done by 11:40. I was flabbergasted. I had never moved in so quick a time.

By noon, we had driven to the new location and were unloading. The speed was a little slower by the higher floor, but it was expedited by the elevator. 5 at a time would pack into the elevator, with as much as could fit in with them. The other 4 would be packing more to the waiting doors on the main floor.

I was sorting boxes to rooms and as quickly as everything made it to the apartment, we started unpacking. Hoseok and Yoongi were putting my bed back together. Jimin and Cher were hanging clothes. My 3 younger children were walking Thistle in this new neighbourhood. Jungkook was pushing my couch from one side of the living room to the other, trying to decide where it would look best. Namjoon and I were in the kitchen.

He pulled pots from boxes and I assigned them homes.

"I haven't broken one single thing." Namjoon boasted. No sooner did he say it than I heard a crash. My teapot was now in shards on the floor. Namjoon was standing, embarrassed, his eyes closed, forehead wrinkled, mouth wrinkled in frustration. "I am so sorry."

I had to laugh.

"I hated that teapot anyway. It was hideous. You did me a favour."

He slit one eye open suspiciously. I patted his arm...and handed him the broom.
