I stepped off the elevator, hoping that Jin would be at his apartment. It was only a few hours since the disastrous dinner date. My children were all asleep in their beds, even Cher, Jimin having been discharged from hospital. I had left a note before slipping out. Everything in my gut was pulling me to Jin. I knew innately that he needed me tonight. I needed him too. The thrill of being his had been heavily overshadowed by his fathers' disapproval. I had thought that Mr. Kim was accepting of our relationship, but I also understood his concerns. The more someone has, the more they stand to lose. His fears that I was a gold digger preying on their innocent son was likely intensified by the revelation of the baby. Bad timing all around. His mother, I noticed, had not seemed surprised. Nor had Halmoni, who patted my belly happily when I had hugged her farewell. Jin had gone home recently. Had he already told them? My first instinct had been to go to Mr. Kim himself and try to remedy things. But this wasn't my place. It was Jins' battle and I would take up sword at his side or stand back and hold his shield. The call was his. Now, following my second instinct, I was going to the warrior himself. I wanted to be sure that his wounds were tended to.

I knocked at the door and Jungkook answered. I could see that he bore his Hyungs' anguish on his face. He and V were in the apartment with a puffy-eyed SeokJin. He seemed surprised to see me.

"What are you doing here?" He asked gently.

"I needed to be close to you. Make sure that you are okay."

Taehyung moved spots so that I could sit next to Jin. I sat down and kissed my man, searching his eyes for an indication of his thoughts.

"I should be checking on you. My father was terrible to you."

I shook my head.

"He wasn't. He was just looking out for his son. He doesn't know me. His concerns are valid."

Jin draped an arm around me, snugging me in against him. He leaned our foreheads together.

"He could have been kinder in his approach."

"He thought you were making a mistake. He was trying to stop it."

Jin kissed my third eye, cupping my head in his large hands.

"How can you be so kind to him when he was so awful to you?"

"I'm a parent, Jin-Ah. I recognize a loving parent trying to protect their child."

He nodded, a half smile quirking up one side of his mouth.

"Yes. You are. You are a wonderful Eomma."

"Thank you."

Taehyung slapped Jins' knee from his spot on the couch arm.

"Well, my work here is done. Good talk!" This lightened the mood and we all laughed. "Come, Kookie, let's get the laundry done. Leave these two alone."

Jungkook rose from his cross-legged position on the floor, stretching his long limbs.

"You going to be okay, Hyung?"

Jin nodded.

"It was the worst day, but I have the best brothers. Thank you."

JK shrugged.

"Not the worst day. I know something that could lift your spirits..." It took a moment for the comment to register. Jins' eyes grew wide. He had momentarily forgotten about the information gem that the Maknae held. Jungkook flashed a brilliant grin. "Tell me, brother, what are you hoping it is? Do you hope to have a boy or a girl?"

Jin stood up, looking between his brother and I. He was excited and nervous. I stood up, too.

"I don't want to know."
