"Are you coming with me this weekend?" Jin was eating his last few bites of his dinner. RM, V and JK were collecting pots and plates from the counter as we spoke.
"These too, Noona?" Namjoon asked. I stood up.
"Yes, if SeokJin-Nim has eaten his fill." I held out the pot. Jin lifted the lid and put another chicken piece on his plate, then waved it away. "The Japchae is there." I loaded up Taehyungs' arms. He kissed me on the cheek.
"Thank you, Noona. We are starving!"
"You always are. That is why I cook so much."
The last two plates were loaded with food. I passed both to Jungkook, making sure he was balanced.
"Yes, thank you, Noona. You don't have to do this, but we sure love that you do." Namjoon grinned at me, his dimples deep enough to tuck a marble in.
"Soon I can do it full time for you guys. I will be happy to take care of all of you."
"A long as you remember that your job is to take care of your man first," Jin looped an arm around me as I went to pass, dropping a kiss on my belly.
"Of course. I would never forget you." I leaned down to kiss his lips, when a sudden stab made me wince. I straightened up, rocking my hips.
"Braxton Hicks?" Jungkook was watching intently. I nodded at him.
"Kookie?" Tae was staring at the maknae, shock on his face.
"I read all about it. They are common in the third trimester of pregnancy. But not a bad thing. Later, they help soften the cervix and open up the birth canal. Are you delivering...vaginally?"
Jin choked, standing up and spinning the maknae around, ushering him to the door. The pain had released and was now replaced by my laughter.
"That reminds me, SeokJin-Ah," I called. "I have a checkup on Friday before I go to your parents house."
"But I am in Daegu all day Friday doing screen tests for that show."
I stepped into the living room, watching Jungkook put his shoes back on, Jin holding the plates.
"Oh, shoot. Are you not joining me at your parents' house then?"
"I will. Sunday. We have stage rehearsals all day Saturday. It's the last weekend before the comeback. I have viewings coming up also for this apartment. You may have to handle those."
"I'll go!" Jungkook was standing, eagerly awaiting to hear my reply. "To the doctor, I mean. I went to the ultrasound. I will take you, Noona."
His delight surprised me. Jin was staring at Kookie like he had been taken over by some alien life form. His dark eyes swung to me, just as curious to hear my response.
"Sure, that would be great." Jungkook lit up, full bunny grin lifting his cheeks.
All three men headed down the hallway, trailed by the aroma of hot food. I pushed the door shut. Jin was looking befuddled. His t-shirt and relaxed khakis gave him a relaxed air, despite his expression.
"Seriously? You are taking Kookie?"
I kissed the tip of Jins' sloping nose.
"If not my man, then his brother will have to do."
Friday night, we were on a train headed to Jins' parents. The check up had gone well, with Jungkook stepping out into the hallway to talk to the doctor, absolutely embracing the role of daddy substitute. He re-entered, reassuring me that everything was fine. I let him speak for me. I hadn't known our sweet boy had such initiative in him. When we heard the heartbeat, JK's golden smile nearly caused a whiteout. This uncle was over the moon. My baby was one lucky little guy to have such men doting over him.
