(The real story takes place in early August, but in this chapter, it's Christmas Eve and everyone is celebrating at The Morrison's House and more. Btw, the picture above is The Morrison's Christmas tree. This is a long chapter because it includes everyone, so Enjoy!)
Gabe and Jack stood in the kitchen, taking various foods out of the oven, microwave, and refrigerator. Christmas Eve dinner will be held shortly and the two grown men wanted everything to be perfect by the time everyone else had arrived to the house. The children, who were forced by their dads to stay downstairs, were conversing in a circle on the floor in front of The Morrison's living room TV, which displayed a 10 hour long video of a fireplace. They sat and occasionally looked at each other, unsure of what to do. Angela gave an awkward smile. "So...I heard that Lena will be joining us tonight!" She said in a happy tone. Amelie's head perked up. She was excited, even if her face didn't show it.
Gabe walked out into the living room and looked amongst the group of eight teenagers, sitting quite bored together. He chuckled. "Woah, calm down you party-animals!" He said in a sarcastic tone. His children rolled his eyes and groaned at the dad joke while The Morrison children chuckled awkwardly. "No seriously, you guys. What's the big plan? Surely you all can come up with something to do for fun?" He asked. Again, they didn't answer him, but they simply listened as if waiting for him to suggest an active for all of them. "How about you guys...um...practice Christmas carols? That way, when everyone comes over, you all can perform for us!" He suggested. The teens smiled as they glanced over at each other. "Sure! That could be fun." Hana said. Gabe chuckled. "Okay, I'll leave you all to it then. The Lindholms and Oxtons will be here shortly, while the Amari's are running late...as usual." Gabe said as he walked back into the kitchen with Jack.
"I have an idea guys!" Lucio exclaimed out of nowhere, his blue Santa hat with a bell jingling softly as he peeked his head up. Like him, the rest of the teens were dressed quite festive. "Why don't we sing the original Christmas carols, but at the same time, let's make our own versions of them?" He suggested. "What does that mean?" Amelíe asked. Lucio scooted closet into the circle with a happy look on his face. "You know how when we were kids, we sang that one version of 'Jingle Bells'? You know, the one that goes, 'Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg!' And so on?" He explained. Various 'Oh yeah's and I remember that' came from the other teens. "Well I'm thinking, let's take 'Jingle Bells' and make a whole new song out of it!" He said with a silly grin on his face. "That could be fun!" Hana exclaimed. "We'll have to get the others into it when they get here." Angela said with a smile. Suddenly the door rang and she chuckled as her dad walked from the kitchen to go answer it. "Speaking of..."
It was both The Lindholms and The Oxtons together at the door. The two families were crowded on the front porch in the snowy weather outside. Jack led them inside and greeted them before shutting the door. Brigitte and Lena walked into the living room, greeting the other eight teens and joining their circle. Lena's parents along with Torbjörn walked into the kitchen to help Gabe and Jack while Brigitte's mother led her many other children into the backyard to play in the snow. "Hey everyone! What's going on?" Brigitte asked in a cheerful tone. She was wearing a very festive Christmas sweater with LED lights sewn into the collar of the sweater. "We're planning on caroling to our parents. You girls in?" Jesse asked. Brigitte and Lena looked at each other, smiled then said, "Sure!" At the same time.
Angela took a piece of paper and a pen out of the coffee table compartments and handed them to Lucio. He gladly took the items from Angela and grinned as he began writing something down. "Ohohoho, guys...this is gonna be good!" He chuckled. Amelíe rolled her eyes and turned to Lena. She was also wearing a festive sweater, not nearly as festive as Brigitte's though. "...you look nice, Lena." Amelíe said quietly. Lena quickly turned her head towards Amelíe then smiled. "Aw, thanks luv! You look quite lovely too!" Amelíe blushed slightly at the British girl's response and quickly put her head down to hide it. "Angela, do you know when Fareeha is getting here?" Hana asked. Angela shrugged. "She said her mother is having difficulty getting some presents into her car. Reinhardt is over there with them trying to help, but that's the last I heard of them and that was nearly an hour ago. They should be here soon though." Angela said with a smile. Olivia turned to Lucio and tried to peek at what he was writing on the paper. "How's the song going?" She asked. He stopped writing and let Olivia read what he had so far. She snickered after she read what he had written and whispered into Hana's ear about what she had read. She giggled. When Olivia and Hana's giggle fit ended, Olivia turned to Jesse. "So what do you think your friend Ashe is doing right now?" She asked with a smirk. Jesse rolled his eyes. "I could care less. I suppose she might be with Bob or somethin'." He said as he reached into a candy bowl on the coffee table and ate a chocolate candy.
