I remember the fighting. I was struggling, trying desperately to incapacitate him and just run away but he was so much stronger than I was. I remember he pushed me and while trying to regain my balance, I broke through something and started to fall. I could see the partly cloudy sky and the top of the roof and his figure looking down at me. Then nothing. I could see nothing but I could feel everything. I heard my name multiple times but I couldn't figure out who was calling to me. Then the sounds started to fade and I was sure I was dead. And although I couldn't feel, see or hear anything, I was sure I was angry. Angry at him for doing this to me. I want him to be sorry for what he did to me. I want to confront him and ask him why he would do this someone, why he would put them through so much pain. I want to so badly.

But I don't remember who he is.

My eyes suddenly opened. The room was bright and smelled like cheap air freshener. My hearing lagged slowly behind my vision but it wasn't long before I could almost see clearly. I tried to move my head to look around and I winced, feeling the sudden burst of soreness and discomfort around my neck. "Ow..." Was the word I slowly let out of my mouth as I tried to move my head around. That's when I noticed Dad. He was sitting in the corner of the room by a window, staring at me with a shocked expression on his face. "Genji...?" I know he said my name but my hearing couldn't determine whether it was a whisper or his normal voice. He quickly got out of his chair and rushed to my side. "Hey buddy..." He definitely said quietly. I think I smiled. Suddenly, someone walked into the room. She looked like a nurse. She rushed to my side as well and that's when I noticed the machines to my right. A heart monitor, an IV drip, and three other devices I couldn't probably identify in my current state of mind. The nurse leaned down close to my face. "How are you 'hon? Are you in any pain?"
"Yeah." I said, my voice sounding very horse. "Okay," she said as she started messing with my IV drip. "I'm going to give you some more pain medication. It might make you a bit drowsy." She said. She pulled a syringe out of her pocket and injected it into my IV drip. I turned back over to Dad.

"Where is everyone?" I asked him, slurring my words slightly as I already felt the effect of the pain medication. Dad put his hand on top of mine. "They're at school, I'll let them know you're awake and they'll come see you." He said, pulling his flip phone out of the pocket of his denim jacket.

"Ok..." I said. Then I closed my eyes.

When I opened my eyes again, I was still in the hospital room, but Dad wasn't in there with me. This time, my vision and my hearing arrived at the same time and moving my head around wasn't as hard, though I still felt very sore. If I didn't have any pain medication, I think I would be in a lot of pain right now. I stared at the picture of a rose that hung on the wall across from my bed until the door to my room opened. It was the nurse. She smiled as she approached me with a tray of food. "Hi 'hon, how are you?" She asked as she set the tray on a small table next to my bed. "Sore," I answered. "Where's my dad?"

"He's out in the waiting room...I think the rest of your family might be out there too." She said as she started examining the many monitors I was connected to. "Can they come in?" I asked as I started to poke at my food with the plastic fork she provided. She smiled. "Well I don't see why not. Just make sure you eat something, okay?" She said before leaving the room. I took a bite out of some white mush on the tray and immediately tried my hardest to not throw it up all over myself. Is this supposed to be mashed potatoes? I bet even Torbjörn could make a better batch of this. The door to my room clicked from the outside then slowly started to open. There, standing in the doorway, was Angela, Hana, and Hanzo. I smiled and weakly waved to them. "Hey guys." I said.

"GENJI!!!!!!!!!!!" Hana practically shrieked and ran over to my bedside she flung herself onto my left and I winced, but I laughed it off. I'm so glad to see her.
"Hana, be careful!" Angela scolded as she fast-walked to where Hana had attached herself to my arm. She slowly and carefully pried her off of me and gave me a sad smile. "Hi Genji." She said. "Hi Angela." I said. She leaned in and gave me a soft hug, being careful as to avoid my many injured spots and wires. When she pulled away, I noticed there was one more person at the door. I grinned. "Hanzo!" I said, relieved. His head perked up and he slowly walked over to my bed. "Hi Genji." He said softly. "Man, am I glad to see you...all of you." I said. Hanzo took another step forward. "Do you...remember anything? About the accident?" He asked.
"Only a few things. I was in a fight with someone on the roof of the school, I lost balance after they pushed me, and I fell through those rusty old bars of the rooftop fence." I answered honestly. I really wish I could remember more. Angela looked as if she were holding her breath. "So you weren't trying to commit suicide?" She gasped. "No! I would never." I said.

She sighed in relief. "Thats reassuring to say the least." Suddenly Hana perked up. "Oh! Genji, everyone else is here too!" She exclaimed. Angela grinned. "Yes! We'll go for a bit so you can see all of them." She said before leading Hana and Hanzo out of the room. Shortly after they left, Amelíe, Olivia, and Brigitte entered my room. Amelíe took a seat next to my bed in the chair that used to be in the corner of the room, but I guess Dad had moved it to be closer to me. Brigitte stood next to me on my left and Olivia stood on my right. "How're you feeling Genji?" Brigitte asked with a warm smile. "Sore...better than screaming in pain I guess, haha." I chuckled. Olivia started to trace the IV drip that was attached to my hand, but quickly pulled her hand back after we made brief eye contact. "They sure have you connected to a lot of tubes and machines." She commented quietly. I shifted uncomfortably and raised my hand where the IV drip was connected. "Yeah, I hate it," I said, eyeing the machines behind Olivia. "It makes me feel like I'm part-human, part-machine. It's all just so uncomfortable."

"Sorry to hear that Genji," Brigitte said. "But you let us know if you need anything, okay? We're here for you." She said warmly. She sounds like a mom...like her mom to be honest. I nodded and with that Brigitte and Amelíe started to make they're way out of my room. But Olivia stayed by my side. "Hey...Genji?"
I glanced at her. "Yeah?" She was silent for a moment, her face looking contemplative.
"Nothing. Never mind. I took notes for you...you know, cause you missed a couple days of school." She said.
"You did that for me?" I asked. She nodded.

"Thank you Olivia. I really appreciate that."
