Warning, this chapter is a little sad and contains topics about body sizes.

I sat next to Angela on the bus this morning on the way to school. Hana would also occasionally join in on our conversations. "So I heard the school just hired a security guard to watch the school, what with all the shootings around the nation and everything." Angela explained. "These school shootings are really getting out of control, I'm glad our school is taking an initiative to protect its students." I said. Hana turned to face Angela. "So are you gonna meet them?" She asked. Angela beamed. "Of course! You know how I am with first impressions. Do you two want to come with me? No doubt they'll be standing by the front entrance." I smiled and gave her a thumbs up. "Of course!" Hana giggled. "Yeah, I'll come too!" The bus then stopped at the school and everyone started to get off. "Alright then, let's go!" Angela said as she lead Hana and I out of the bus and too the school's main entrance. There at the door, watching every student walk in, was a tall, very tall, woman with curly hair and the most unique earrings I've ever seen! She was talking into her walkie-talkie as we walked up to her curiously. She noticed us and ended her conversation on the other line. She turned to us and gave us a warm smile. "Hello there. What can I do for you girls?" She said in the most soothing voice I've ever heard! She sounds like the automated telemarketers that you hear on the phone sometimes. Angela was the first to speak up. "Um, hi there! I'm Angela, this is Brigitte and that's Hana. We just wanted to say hi to you and welcome you to the school staff!" Angela said. The woman's eyes widened before she started laughing. She had the kind of laughter that could light up a room. "Well, that's very sweet of you girls! No one has greeted me like that since I started this job. Thank you girls for brightening my day!" She said with a large smile. The three of us smiled to each other, happy that we were able to make someone's day. I then looked back up at the woman. "So what's your name?" I asked her. "You girls can call me Miss Orisa." She said with a bright smile. As much as I wanted to keep talking to her, I needed to go inside to get to my locker and get a few things before my classes of the day started. I said goodbye to Miss Orisa, Angela and Hana and walked inside. I started walking down the hallway where my locker is located and I set my backpack down as I unlocked it. At the time, I didn't notice a presence or two come up behind me until I heard, "Ahem."

I quickly turned my head behind me and saw two girls standing there. One girl had her arms folded and I recognized her from my English class. I think her name is Jane. The other girl was staring at her phone, occasionally looking up at me. "Um, yeah? What can I do for you?" I asked them. Jane smirked and pointed at me. "Yes actually, move your backpack. I need to get to my locker." She said with a catty tone. Wow, that was kind of rude. Nonetheless I moved my bag closer to me and my locker as I continued to grab my books for the day. Jane opened her locker and there on the inside of the door was a sequined mirror and a tray of different coloured lipsticks. As she chose a colour and applied it, she would also look at me from time to time. When she was done, she closed her locker and faced me completely. "So, Bridget was it?" She said in a monotone voice. I awkwardly chuckled. "Um, it's actually Brigitte." I corrected her. She scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatevs. Listen, if we're going to have lockers next to each other for the entire year, let me give you some advice." She said. She then poked her finger on my stomach and smirked. "You better get some exercise, tubby! I could barely get to my locker because your body fat was taking up two whole lockers!" She laughed before walking away. I stood there, dumbfounded at what just happened! "T-Tubby?" I said to myself quietly as I looked down at my figure. Yes, I know I'm not the slimmest girl...but I'm not tubby, am I? Some small tears started to well up in my eyes and I wiped them away before anyone in the hall could see. I grabbed the last of my books just as the first bell rang. I shut my locker door and began walking to my first period.

As I walked in, I noticed Jane and her friend sitting up at the front...staring and giggling at me. I pretended to not see them and immediately proceeded to my desk. Hanzo and Jesse were already there, just talking to each other. I sat in my seat and set my stuff down. "Hey Brigitte! How are you today?" Jesse asked me. I think my eyes must've showed signs that I was crying, because he and Hanzo both looked at me concerned. "Are you okay, Brigitte?" Hanzo asked me. I sighed. "Can...can I ask you guys a question?" I asked. They both nodded. "And can you be completely honest?" They nodded once again. "Of course, Brigitte. We're your friends. Now, what's wrong?" Jesse asked. I took a deep breath and sighed. "Okay...um, am I...tubby?" I said quietly, trying to make sure that Jane wouldn't hear, even over our loud classmates. The boys look confused and looked at each other for a moment, yet still stayed silent. "Um, no Brigitte. You aren't tubby at all." Jesse said with a slight stutter. I...I think he's lying. "Brigitte, where did you get that idea from?" Hanzo asked just before the bell rang. The teacher than entered the classroom and sat down at her desk. I looked down at my lap and sighed. "Nevermind...Forget what I said."
