It's 7:00am on a Sunday morning. Today is the last day of summer vacation. Ana sat on her front porch and drank her hot morning tea while she read a book. Every now and then a neighbor would walk by and wave and she would wave back. This is how Ana's mornings usually go. Nice and peaceful. Until her daughters wake up. They are so different, and argue a lot. Ana hates dealing with them on their bad days and she's not sure if today would be a bad day for them, considering it's the last day of summer. She'll have to wait and see.
-Timeskip to 9:30am-
Satya awoke in her bed, facing the blue wall of her room. She sat up and looked to her left at the small clock on her bedside table. The clock read 9:30am. She sighed and got out of bed. As she walked to her closet to get dressed, she looked around her room as always. The wallpaper in her room was her favourite colour, light blue and the roof of her room was decorated with hanging ribbons of the same colour. A desk with a neatly stacked pile of books sat against the wall, opposite side to her bed, and next to that was a bookcase with her favourite stories. Everything in Satya's room is neat and in place. She constantly has to make sure of it, because Satya has OCD. The tiniest thing out of place can get Satya anxious if not fixed, so she always observes her room closely in the morning.
Once she was done, she walked into her closet which was just as neat and organized as her room, and began to pick an outfit for the day. Satya decided to go with a light blue sundress and a pair of light blue sandals to match. But before she can get dressed, she needs to freshen up. She walks out of her room with her clothes in hand, and walks into the bathroom. She places her clothes on the counter and walks across the hall to Fareeha's room. In the Amari household, the first child to wake up must wake their other sibling. That's how it's always been. Satya always wakes up early so it's always been her job. She walked in and was surprised to see Fareeha sitting on her bed, looking at her phone. When she noticed Satya, she smiled and put her phone on her bedside table.
"Hey Satya. What's up?" She said with a smile. Satya rolled her eyes. "I'm getting in the shower, I thought you'd still be asleep." Fareeha got up from her bed and walked over to her. "Yeah well, it's the last day before school so I wanted to make it count. I've been messaging Angela all morning." She said with a wink. Satya once again rolled her eyes and walked into the bathroom. She shut the door and a couple minutes later, the sound of running water could be heard. Fareeha walked into her closet and started to choose what she was going to wear today. In the end she settled for a pair of dark jeans, a navy blue tank top, and a pair of black sneakers. Fareeha had already showered the night before, so she didn't need to shower this morning. She walked downstairs and saw her mom drinking tea at the kitchen table. When she noticed Fareeha, she looked up and smiled. "Good morning Fareeha. Had a good nights sleep?" She asked.
As Fareeha made herself a bowl of cereal, she kept the conversation going. "Yeah. I woke up and started thinking about school. I'm kind of nervous." When Fareeha finished making her cereal, she down at the table across from Ana. "What are you worried about?" She asked. Fareeha are some of her cereal. "Well, I don't know. Angela has been telling me that she has a weird feeling about this school year. She feels like something is going to happen. She doesn't know if it's good or bad either." Ana smiled. "That's excitement. Tell her not to worry so much."
Suddenly, Satya comes walking into the kitchen and starts to make herself some toast for breakfast. "Good morning, Satya. How did you sleep?" Ana asked. Satya finished making her toast and sat at the table with her sister and mother. "Fine I guess." She responded. The table stayed silent for a minute until Ana asked Satya another question. "Are you...excited for school at all?" Satya remained silent until she finished her breakfast. "I'm going back upstairs." She said as she threw her paper plate in the trash can. "Oh...Um, okay. Don't forget that we'll be going to the Morrison's at 3:00." Ana said as Satya began to walk out of the room. Before leaving, she turned and smiled at her mother, then walked upstairs. A few moments later, a door could be heard closing which indicated that Satya was now in her room.
"Hey mom, Satya hasn't been feeling well regarding the new school year. Things have been happening to her at school that she doesn't like talking about." Fareeha explained. Ana took a sip of her tea. "What do you mean?" Fareeha sighed. "She was bullied all last year by a really shitty group of girls." Fareeha explained. "Language Fareeha. What are the names of these girls?" Ana asked. Fareeha shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know and Satya won't talk to me. I don't think she'll talk to you about it either." Ana crossed her arms and thought for a minute before answering back to Fareeha. "Okay listen. I want you to try your hardest to find out the names of these girls. This evens pains me to say, but I also want you to get evidence of them bullying Satya, because without evidence they are always innocent. Do you understand me?" Ana said to Fareeha. She didn't expect her mother, the guidance counselor and assistant nurse of Overwatch High School to say this of all things! But Fareeha loves her sister, and doesn't want to see her suffer any longer. She nodded. "Okay, I'll do it. If these girls are caught, they'll be expelled?" She asked. Ana nodded. "As sure as the sun will shine another day."
-Timeskip to 2:45pm-
"Come on girls! We need to leave now!" Ana shouted up the stairs. Her daughters were in their separate rooms all day doing as they please. Eventually they both came downstairs and walked to their mother at the front door. "Fareeha, go get the other bag of buns in the kitchen? And Satya, could you also get the bag of chips next to the buns?" Ana asked. They both complied and each got what they were supposed to get in the kitchen and walked back to their mom. "Ready to go girls?" Her daughters nodded and with that they all walked outside and over to Ana's car. "Wait mom, the Morrison's are just down the street. Why are we taking the car?" Satya asked. "Oh, I forgot to tell you. We're going to go pick up Reinhardt. His car broke down today and he's waiting for Torbjorn to fix it. So Fareeha, how about you sit in the back with Satya." Ana explained. Fareeha complied and sat in the backseat with Satya. After Ana got in the car, she started it up and began the drive to Reinhardt's house, which was in the next neighborhood over.
Once they picked up Reinhardt, they began to drive to the Morrison's. Once they arrived, Ana parked in front of their house on the curb and they all walked to the gate of their backyard. Reinhardt opened the gate first and let in the girls and Ana in before him like a gentleman. He closed the gate behind him and walked with the ladies to the main part of the backyard. There they were met with Jack Morrison, who was at the barbecue flipping burgers. "Hello Mr. Morrison. How have you been?" Fareeha asked. Jack smiled as he greeted Fareeha. "I've been doing alright, thank you. I hope you have been the same. You all can put the buns on the table." As Ana and Fareeha put the buns on the table, Satya walked to Jack. "Where do I put these, Mr. Morrison?" She asked.
"Oh, I put out a couple of bowls on the kitchen counter. Do you think you can pour that bag into one of those bowls for me?" He asked. Satya nodded and walked inside. Everyone in that time talked friendly and helped Jack barbecue the food. Moments later, Satya came out and set the bowl of chips on the table and not soon after, Angela walked outside with a grocery bag. Satya sat on the table by the grill and played on her phone. Angela handed the grocery bag to her father then went over to talk to Fareeha. Suddenly, the backyard gate opened and the Reyes family walked inside. Everyone greeted them with hugs and friendly talk. Gabriel went over to help Jack with the grill, Jesse and Hanzo talked with each other nearby, and Amelíe went into the house after talking with Jack briefly.
Fareeha, Angela and Lucio were now talking in a group with each other. But everything went silent when the backyard gate opened and a completely unfamiliar family walked in. The family was a middle aged wife and husband, and their daughter who looked around Amelíe's age. Jack walked up to the family and introduced them to everyone. Fareeha briefly spoke with the girl, Lena and found her to be a pleasant girl. When Amelíe got back, Hana and Olivia followed and she sat on the ground against the house. Lena walked over to Amelíe who looked pretty lonely and for the entire evening they talked right there.
For the Amari's, the night was great and everyone had a good time. Around 7:00, Ana, her daughters, and Reinhardt decided it would be a good time to leave and get ready for tomorrow. They said their goodbyes and walked back to Ana's car. They dropped Reinhardt back at his house then drove back to their house. When they got back home, the girls decided to get ready for bed, which they did. They said goodnight to Ana and both went into their separate rooms. They both had a hard time falling asleep, for they both had no idea what was to become of tomorrow.
