“Ethan! You're here!” girls squealed all over the hallways on a new day of school.
Ethan? As in my long lost best friend, Ethan?! That name certainly got my head snapping.
At the front of the school’s entrance was indeed a male figure. Blonde hair was seen over heads. But being crowded and bombarded by the female population. Seriously, even the hallways seemed almost deserted, now.
“The school player has arrived!” a girl muttered annoyed in a sarcastic voice.
I looked at her, confused. “There’s a player at this school?” I gulped down a confidence pill, willing to talk to this girl to learn more.
“Yeah, his name’s Ethan. Huge heart hottie for the girls. Makes me sick” she faked gagged.
I laughed. Come to think of it, she kinda looked like a sporty girl. With a sweat shirt and jogging pants. I think me and her could be good friends. At least not all the girls were the same!
“Hey, what’s your name?” I asked curious.
“Carla” she shook my hand. “You?” she asked.
“I’m Daisy” I answered, shaking back her hand.
“Well, Daisy, I’m just informing you that Ethan is such a gum wad. Trying to make you fall for him” she informed with a serious expression.
“Kinda got the hint” I teased.
“I’m guessing your the new kid then, right?” she asked.
“Is it that obvious?” I asked, ashamed of ‘my fitting in’ situation.
“No, it’s just that if you don’t know Ethan, then you're probably new here. Which would mean, you either met him or you're about to” she questioned with an eyebrow up.
“Oh, I’ve already met him. He just didn’t give me his name, that’s all” I said sincere. “And he’s a real pain” I added.
“Well, the royal pain is coming this way” Carla said looking and scurrying away.
‘Hey!’ I wanted to shout to Carla, but boy was she a fast runner.
“Sup, beautiful” The Ethan said.
“Oh my gosh! Is THE ETHAN talking to me!” I asked girly, with sarcasm.
He gave a soft chuckle. A hand running through his hair. “I take that as: ‘you so were dreaming about me last night’ ” he wiggled a brow and winked.
My mouth opened to speak.
“It’s okay, lots of girls dream about me” Ethan said confidently.
“Sorry, to break your bubble or man pride, but I was dreaming about a guy who was nothing like you. Quite the opposite” I gave a smug smile.
The bell rang at that moment, leaving me with my victory moment before he left.
