Those words that Ethan last spoke, haunted my brain till it was time for back to school. I couldn’t sleep the nights before or even think correctly.
Ethan remembered.
He remembered that promise.
The one from 5th grade.
$h!t.
“What’s wrong, Daisy?” I was at lunch with Carla. It felt like eternity since the last time I spoke to her.
“I bet Ethan already told you? Or you can guess from gossip” I replied.
“Ethan told Logan about you guys not being friends anymore, yeah. But why?” she asked all confused.
“Hey, Love!” Keith’s voice echoed in my head. Oh, he came to school with me. I mean it’s not like the teacher’s would notice. They hardly knew there student’s names.
“Hey” I smiled, as he gave me a kiss on my cheek. I could see now Ethan’s table with Logan and Caleb crowded with admires. *cough* Girls mostly *cough*.
Ethan's eyes giving me an uneasy glare then going back into conversation with whomever was there.
How could Carla endure that? Trusting Logan to be with all those girls. I would sit with my boyfriend not let him sit with other girls.
I looked back to Carla who gave an uncomfortable smile. She probably felt uneasy lingering around with her boyfriend’s friend’s enemy. I would be.
“Keith can you get us some drinks from the cafeteria bar, please?” I asked him.
“Sure, babe” Keith said with a smile and squeezed my shoulder, teasingly.
“I caught Ethan with some other girl” I answered her question.
She laughed. Not the reaction I was expecting. “Remember the first day I met you? I told you Ethan was a school player” she remarked.
“Yes, but I didn’t think it would hurt” I muttered.
“It hurt?” Carla looked surprised. “Oh, I get it now” Carla looked like her eyes were finally opened. Like she was interviewing me.
“Get what? I hate Ethan?” I questioned.
Carla gave a small smile. “You don’t hate Ethan, honey” she said.
“Yes, I do” I said.
