Next day was Friday! I knew today HAD to be a good day, right! I mean the weekend and then no more school stress till monday!

I skipped down the hallways to my locker, singing a tune in my head.

♫ It’s Fridays, Friday ♫

♫ Gotta Get Down On Friday ♫

♫ Everyone’s Looking Forward To The Weekend, Weekend ♫

♫ Friday, Friday ♫

♫ Gotta Get Down On Friday ♫

“I remember you, Daisy” I heard Ethan’s voice sound soft and in a state of shock.

I closed the locker door, looking into a pair of blue eyes. My heart stopping. Not knowing how to respond.

“I thought about you, all night last night” Ethan flashed his eyes onto my own, with a serious look.

I cracked a small smile. Okay, c’mon that sounded cheesy / player kinda talk. Thinking about me… and sleep? … haha.

“So who am I?” I asked.

“You’re my best friend. Daisy Darwin, since first grade” Ethan said with wide eyes. Like he couldn’t believe it himself.

“You are … correct” I said looking down at the ground.

I had a huge smile on my face.

‘He finally noticed!’ I thought feeling warm inside.

Impulsively, I wrapped my arms around Ethan and gave him a big hug. I wanted to feel a hug from my best friend again.

For a second, Ethan hesitated. But, he decided to wrap his big arms around my smaller frame. I placed my head on his toned chest. Feeling happy to be reunited with a close friend and nothing more.

Ethan, let go of our embrace, leaving me puzzled.

“Ethan, how come you just NOW NOTICE me?” I asked.

Ethan scratched the back of his nervously. “You look so… different” Ethan said letting a breath out.

“Different good? Or different bad?” I asked nervous.

He took a step back. “Both” he said looking at me from head to toe.

“What? How?” I asked shocked by his response.
