it was you!" he exclaimed in anger.

the girl flinches to the tone of his voice, oblivious to the situation. "you were that girl from earlier! the one that pushed me and ran away!" he shouts with rage, getting up from his seat.

the girl stays silent, unbothered by the stranger's sudden outburst and continued to draw whatever she was scribbling on her notebook.

jeongguk scoffs, finding the girl's attitude unbelievable. "hey! that's not how you treat someone you've bumped into by accident." he sternly says, looking at her with arms crossed.

she was yet to utter a word, eyes glued to her notebook. "gosh, at least apologize." he quietly mutters under his breath, rolling his eyes. he sits back down meeting the creaking sound of the bench, arms still crossed and still burning in anger.

"i did." alas the girl talks. voice soft and honey-like.

the boy looks at her, "what?" he questions.

"apologized." she sternly replies and faces the boy as well. "i apologized earlier. you're one to talk, you've been blabbing at me for 2 minutes straight for something so little."

"if you're still so worked up about it, then im sorry. i should've been more careful and conscious." she sincerely says and finishes with a smile. with that her eyes soften, like the asters and daffodils that encased the two.

jeongguk was left silent at her response. he was taken aback by her kindness. that made him feel like a piece of shit. how can someone act so nice? he thought.

a sense of regret washes over him and a wave of guilt settles in his chest like hard ice. the poor boy quietly sits back on the bench which they shared, mindful of the gap they had between one another. distance nothing more, nothing less. however the shame that he felt was immense, his subconscious shouting at him and the continuously eating him away.

"you seem embarrassed from earlier." the girl took initiative to break the silenced. her voice of honey once more spoke, giggling as she notices the shy boy's stiff demeanor.

"if you still feel bad from earlier's turn of events," the lovely girl turns to him, eyes fluttering like a butterfly's wings. the boy remains wide-eyed. "can you keep me company for a while? just until i finish my sketch."
