and so there he stood, after an hour and ten minute flight and a taxi cab to his hotel, he was finally at jeju.

he didn't know how how his therapist managed to convince him to come, let's just say it took a lot of persuasion.

the place was beautiful, like a picture from a storybook. a picturesque land with calming winds and lovely hills. where trees made friends with the sky and sang wonderful harmonies. anyone would love to be in his shoes and witness the scenery itself; yet he didn't feel any of that.

there was no spark of excitement from the young man. the island gave people the chance to unwind and release all the mundane worries they'd have in life and simply enjoy. but that wasn't the case for jeongguk.

it wasn't a vacation for him. it couldn't be because he knew it was a part of his therapy. and that made it impossible to ignite that flame of excitement.

to him, it seemed more like charity work for a worthless man who was in desperate need of light in his life. he felt somewhat more pathetic of himself, booking a flight and traveling all the way to the other side of the country just to serve his lonesome self.

'am I actually at this point of my life?' he thinks to himself along with a bitter chuckle. just at the thought of himself, he couldn't feel any more pathetic and worthless.
