"hoseok hyung!" the young one shouts from the table at the other side of the room, waving his arm with the biggest smile on his face. "you made it!"

the same grin shows up on his face upon the sight of his good friend. "taehyung-ah!"

they sit down on their table quickly take their order. the atmosphere warm and comfortable. everyone in the room wore their best smile, happily waving their beers in the air. the strong aroma of the meat on the grills and the sound of clinking glasses here and there, and the faint music in the background. the two couldn't wait to catch up.

"wow, it's been quite a while since we went out like this." hoseok says in pure excitement and they both chuckle. "work is such a pain in the ass. i barely get to go out these days." taehyung replies with a hint of frustration. but he was more than relieved to finally have time off with his buddy.

and with that, time quickly passed. the two close friends didn't waste time to catch up. many chats, laughs, and numerous beers were shared. it was indeed a fun time for them and the evening swiftly slipped away.

"oh by the way hyung," taehyung says as he puts his drink down.

the older hums in response as he looks up to face him. "hm?"

"where's guk? didn't you say he was gonna come too?" the younger one asks and hoseok couldn't help but feel a bit blue.

"he ended up saying no."

"again?" tae says as his brows furrowed in absolute disbelief.

the same upset expression grew on hoseok's face "i kept telling him to go but he really wouldn't budge."

"it's been a while since the three of us went out." taehyung spoke. a bitter laugh out his mouth as he reminisced. dead air takes place of their conversation. the joyful atmosphere suddenly shifts into a gloomy one at the thought of their friend. the three were the bestest of friends. but now it would always be just hoseok and taehyung.

"hyung, don't you get.. worried? about jeongguk." The young one suddenly speaks.

"i do." hoseok replies almost instantly. "ever since that happened, he's not that smiley kid he used to be, you know. it's been so long yet he can't seem to just brush it past him."

and once again the air was filled with cold silence. the uneasy mood still remained. deep concern continuously filled their minds that they wouldn't even utter a word. at this point, all they wanted was for things to go back to how they used to be.
