instinctively, the boy walked to the garden on the birth of a new day. he was clueless as to why he did so, heck the boy had no intention to go. but from the moment he fluttered his copper eyes open, like a butterfly to a flower, it was like his body yearned for the garden. something about it intrigued him. unknowingly, he was drawn to it. and so he let his feet take over, leading him in front of the familiar bright yellow gate.
like deja vu, he found himself sitting on the same rusty bench, slowly closing his eyes, basking in the sun's warm embrace, listening to the songs of nature.
"oh, we meet again." a voice is heard from the distance, followed by a soft honey-like chuckle. curios to the voice's identity he slowly opens his eyes, his gaze meets the familiar double braided, sun-kissed girl, waving at him with a flower-like smile. the grass shuffles with every step the girl took towards the boy.
jeongguk chose to stay silent though she was now sitting on bench with him.
he was never the type to engage in the conversation first. the boy is oftentimes puzzled by how people can effortlessly mingle with others they've never met before yet seem like they've been good friends for years. he knew that could never be that social butterfly. he lacked the skills and confidence.
the girl was quick to notice the boy's odd silence, sitting awkwardly on the bench with her. "is that yours?" she asks, pointing.
jeongguk looks at the camera hanging by his neck. "oh this. yeah— it's mine."
"great!" the young lady exclaims. eyes turning into crescents as she spoke and lips tugging a wide smile. "then you can help me." she said and skipped away, leaving the boy confused.
