I wait in the hallway of the bustling daycare, watching the children file out of the classrooms, glancing around at the couples of parents waiting beside me. I smile as their children rush into their arms, as I await my own toddler.

He emerges from his classroom, his fingers wrapped around the yellow backpack strapped onto him. He has a broad smile on his face, and babbles loudly with the kids around him. They all laugh in unison before being dismissed by their instructor. Seiji bounces over to me, extending his hand towards mine, as I crouch down and take his hand.

"Did you have a good day?" I ask, rubbing a streak of marker from his cheek.

He nods eagerly, before explaining the various crafts he did, and the games he played with his friends. As his story comes to an end, I lift him onto my hip, and begin our walk home. He points out various things on the way, hitting me with question after question. I answer them all lightly, laughing at most. Though he doesn't notice, I hold him just a bit closer than usual, feeling his tight grip around my neck.

As we reach our apartment, Seiji looks up to me slowly, looking around, before asking, "Where's Dad?"

I stop in my tracks as I hear him say it, but I'm not angry, just caught off guard. I hadn't heard him call Oikawa that yet, and it takes adjusting which I haven't had the time to do.

"Do you want to call him?" I ask, taking off my shoes.

The toddler nods eagerly, as grins as I place my phone in his small hands. I help him dial Tooru, and we both listen to the line ringing, awaiting an answer.

"Hello?" Tooru says, sounding out of breath.

"Hello!" Seiji squeals, laughing wildly. He always loves talking on the phone, and thinks it's the most hilarious thing ever. Anytime I allow him to call someone, he gets giddy as ever, and can barely stop peals of laughter from erupting.

"Hey Seiji," Tooru says, "How's it going?"

"Good," the toddler replies, "Where are you?"

"I'm almost done with practice," he explains, "I'll be over soon if that's okay with your mom."

Seiji looks to me immediately as I motion for him to hand the phone to me. He grudgingly obliges, and I bring the phone to my ear.

"Do you think we could meet at your house instead?" I beg, "Things here are a bit of a mess, and I'm too drained to bother cleaning."

He laughs at this before giving me an enthusiastic yes, "Do you want me to bring some food over?" I ask, looking towards the kitchen.

"Sounds good to me (Y/N)-chan," he chuckles, still sounding slightly winded.

Seiji pulls lightly on my shirt, pleading for the phone to be returned to him, and I hand it over, as he beams up at me.

"Bye!" He grins, hanging up before Oikawa has a chance to respond. I laugh, as Seiji runs to hand the phone back to me, smirking as he does so.

"You need to wait for them to say goodbye first before you hang up," I remind him, as he nods slowly trying to understand.

With that, he runs off towards his room, stating he's going to play with his toys. I turn my attention to the mail which I've left on the table, specifically the bills I know are in there calling for me to pay them. I've been putting it off, knowing I'd barely have enough to pay them all this month. I groan as I open them one by one, finding my beliefs to be true. I bring a hand to my forehead as I tally everything up, cursing under my breath. There's no way this is going to work.

"Seiji it's time to go," I call from the kitchen, putting the bills to the side while grabbing my keys from beside me. The toddler comes running in, his hair in a mess like he's been rolling around wild. I don't bother to fix it, and instead grab the ingredients to make dinner from the refrigerator and place them in a bag which Seiji offers to hold. He struggles to carry the load, but he's determined. It drags on the ground in front of him as he grunts softly, following after me, trying to mask the strain carrying the bag brings him.

"Do you need help?" I ask calmly, trying to mask a laugh.

"No!" He shouts, "it's too heavy for you."

I laugh when he says this, and show him my flexed arm, "I'm strong you know."

He gapes at my arm, which isn't too impressive, but apparently is enough to convince him. He gives me the bag slowly, and we get on our way.

"Hello!" Seiji shouts as we enter the house, quickly kicking off his shoes before running into his father's open arms. Oikawa's loud laughter fills the room as he wraps Seiji in a hug, before getting up and joining me by the door. He plucks the bag of groceries from my hand, placing a warm kiss on my cheek, before looking me over.

"What?" I ask, wondering why he has such a big smile on his face. He shakes his head and offers me no answer, so I follow him to the kitchen along with Seiji.

"Oooo," Tooru beams, pulling out the ingredients, "Are we having a hot pot?"

I nod firmly, taking the ingredients from him and looking them over, ensuring I brought everything. Tooru pulls a pot out for me to use, as Seiji runs off to turn on the TV.

Tooru remains hovering behind me, placing his head in the crook of my neck as I work, his hands wrapping around my sides soundlessly. He stays there, his breath warm on my neck as he exhales, his breathing matching mine. I relax beside him, as my body fits perfectly alongside his.

"Tooru?"

"Hmm"

"Can we talk about something serious for a minute?" I ask quietly, wishing I wasn't breaking the comfortable silence.

"Always," he murmurs into my neck, his arms squeezing me slightly tighter for a moment before loosening back to normal.

"Do you still want me and Seiji to move in?"
