Anthony's POV:
"What do you want?" I asked. "I was simply ordered to watch over you by Jae." Sebastian answered, and his eyes shimmered red. Right. Why does Jae trust him so much? "Well, you don't really need to." I said and turned around beginning to walk away. Suddenly something caught my attention and I stopped in my tracks.
"Did you just say Jae?" I asked.
"Why of course. That is her name."
"You didn't address her with Madame?"
It was quiet for a moment and Sebastian spoke up. "Jae ordered me to address her this way." So Jae gave Sebastian permission to call her by her name? My body burned hot, and I turned to Sebastian. "Why did Jae trust you?" Words slipped from my mouth and Sebastian's playful expression was replaced with an unhappy frown. I grew cautious at the sight of his unhappy glow. "I do not think I know the answer to your question." He replied and I clenched my fists. "Why did Jae sell her soul to you?" I asked clearly. "Jae wishes to achieve more information about her father after he passed years ago. I am her protector until she has accomplished her goal. As long as our contract stands and Jae is alive, I will stay by her side until-"
"You take her soul." I interrupted. Sebastian smiled. "Yes."
He suddenly looked in the corner of his eye. I froze, thinking he knew something was close by. "Sir Anthony, I will not go against orders of protecting you, but if you refuse, I'm sure your brother would be rather upset that he killed you with his own hands." Sebastian said this as he looked passed me. I heard ragged breathing behind me and I stopped in my tracks. Was there something behind me? As soon as I closed my eyes, I was swept up by something and landed softly back on my feet. I opened my eyes to see us on the rooftop. "What was that?" I asked. "Your brother." Sebastian replied. "He's still possessed, and I surely thought he would attack you." Sebastian saved me? "Thanks..." I said. Sebastian smiled. Suddenly a man with pitch black eyes leaped to the rooftop a few feet from us. "Stay away from Elizabeth!" He screamed. It was Daniel. Sebastian stood in front of me, and his eyes glowed once more. "I see you've killed another innocent man." Sebastian said. It was only a few hours until after he disappeared. the sun shined down upon us, and I stood still, listening carefully. "Was it worth it?" Sebastian asked. "Killing an innocent man without a certain reason?" Daniel laughed. His voice was different; low and ragged. Christopher was still taking over him and killing men without a care. "I had a reason. To avenge my fiancée!" Daniel spat. Blood began streaming from his eyes. "Elizabeth was taken from me, and I won't stand for it!" Daniel quickly dashed toward me. Sebastian jumped in his way and blocked his blow towards my chest. I stepped back as Sebastian dodged Daniel's attacks with ease. Sebastian's speed was incredible, but Daniel was picking up speed as well. Why isn't Sebastian fighting back?
Sheriff showed me another photo of a man stabbed in the heart. My right eye twitched at the sight. "This happened just at dawn?" I asked. The Sheriff nodded and Mr.Randolph stepped forward. He placed two beautiful wedding rings on the table and sat down beside the Sheriff. "We found this where Daniel escaped." He informed. I looked at the two rings. "It might be the two rings Christopher had after the engagement party then." I suggested. "Since you said Daniel was possessed, I called in Kati, a woman who can help us contact a spirit." Mr.Randolph said. The woman came in wearing a purple dress and a purple lace bandana covering her mouth. She bowed to me. "Good morning Madame Jae." Kati greeted and I nodded. "Good morning, Miss Kati." I said. Kati turned to the Sheriff. "The room is all set. Who will I be speaking to in the spirit world?"
"Elizabeth. I'm afraid I don't know her last name but," I handed her the ring,"this is her ring. I don't know if it will help." She shook her head. "No. It's just fine." Kati showed us into one of the station rooms now dark with only one candle that sits on a table. Kati gestured us into the room, and I sat down. My heart was racing, but I tried to keep a straight face. Mr.Randolph sat down at the table along with the Sheriff and Maddie. Maddie's leg was shaking from fear. I held her hand and smiled. "It's okay." I said softly, and she returned the smile. Kati placed the ring in a black powder and held my hand. "We will now hold each other's hands for protection. Whatever you do..do not let go." She informed and Maddie squeezed my hand. She was so frightened. Maybe I shouldn't have brought her. "Now we will begin." Kati closed her eyes and began repeating a mantra. I watched closely as the candle's flame began to shake. The flame was shifting its colors, from orange to blue, blue to purple. The color shifting stopped at its normal state and grew bigger. Kati stopped suddenly and she smiled. "The dear Elizabeth is here." She informed. "What shall I ask her?" I thought quickly and turned to Kati.
"Is there a way to calm her fiancé, Christopher?" I asked. Kati repeated my words, and a gust of wind blew around us. "She has answered 'to appease my fiancé, he needs to move on with me.'" Kati turned back to me, as if waiting for another question. "How do we do that?" I asked. Kati, again, repeated my words and waited patiently for an answer. Her eyes slowly opened, and she frowned. "Elizabeth has spoken. She says 'I am needed. I need you to fulfill his transport to the after life.'" I looked at Maddie, and she had her eyes closed shut.
"I'll do it." I volunteered. Kati hesitated before nodding at my choice. "Madame Jallarie Drowed has volunteered to give her body into your possession." Everything was silent. Kati turned to me and reassured me of her assistance. I smiled at her for helping me calm down. After a quick second, I felt a sharp pain in my chest, and it felt as if wind was forcing itself into me. I cried out and everything went black.
Sebastian's POV:
Daniel's speed is increasing against mine. At this rate, there will be a match between our movements and speed. The way Daniel is acting. He and Christopher are actually quite alike. Daniel lost Kirsten a few months ago and Christopher lost his fiancée, Elizabeth, as well. Although I'm unaware of how Christopher died, I'm sure that is not important at the moment. "Elizabeth! Stay away from her!!!" Christopher's pushing his anger into his attacks more than he is thinking. Does he even know that she is dead? I leaped backwards and removed my tailcoat. "Oh dear, you seem to have torn my coat." I complained. Sir Anthony crossed his arms over his chest. "You have a lot of confidence if you're worried about your clothing." I smiled. I threw my coat to the side as Daniel dashed towards me. I blocked his first blow with my arm and ducked under his kick. "My, you get angry much easier than I thought." I said and Daniel growled in anger.
"Christopher!" A woman's voice was audibly close, and I looked past him finding Jae in a white dress and veil. Daniel turned around and his anger melted away. "Elizabeth?" Christopher called. She nodded in response and walked over it her fiancée. Compared to all the other cases, this may be the most exciting.
"No. The woman you see may look like me, but I've gone past life. You should too, so we can be together." Jae grabbed Daniel's hands. Tears ran down his face. Anthony sauntered over to me and smiled. He flipped my coat over my shoulder. "Nice job, Sebastian." He said. "Thank you." I replied. "Christopher. Move on with me. You can't control this man forever." Jae stroked Daniel's cheek, and I felt something inside me twitch. Elizabeth was going to send him on with her, and I think I know how she's doing it. "You wanted to stay by my side, right?" She asked.
"Yes. I do."
"Then forget about the ones who killed me. Just focus on staying by my side forever."
Daniel and Jae kissed each other, and a bright light emerged from them. Christopher and Elizabeth were leaving their bodies together, merging as one. The souls immediately dispersed into the thin air. I ran up to Jae as she fell back. She was cold as I caught her, but a smile was on her face. Daniel was normal again as well as he sat up and held his head. "Ow.." Daniel groaned. Anthony ran over and helped Daniel up from the ground. "What happened?" Daniel asked. "Glad to see you're back." Anthony said. I stared at Jae as her eyes slowly opened. "Sebastian.." she called my name. "It's over, Jae." I told her. She smiled. "Thank goodness." She sighed and sat up. She suddenly frowned in anger. "Why am I wearing plain white?" She asked. "When Elizabeth possessed you, it appears she changed your clothes into her dress from her engagement party."
I hated being in just plain white clothing. As Sebastian smiled at me, I blushed. "I believe it's time to return back to the manor, Jae." He said. I nodded, trying to stand up but fell back into Sebastian's arms. "Sorry, I can't walk." I apologized. Sebastian picked me up while smiling. "What's so funny?" I asked. "Nothing at all."
I could see Anthony watch us angrily. "Anthony, I see you're perfectly fine. Good job, Sebastian." I said. Anthony's grimace deepened. Sebastian cleared his throat and looked at me. "Actually, he didn't need my help." He shrugged my praise off. "Well, I'm glad to see you're okay." Anthony smiled at me, and I smiled back. "Sebastian, take me back to the manor. I need to talk to you." I ordered.
"Yes, Madame Jae."
