"Snake?"

Snake's hand was raised toward the carriage as if he was the one who stopped it.

"Hello Black, says Wordsworth." Snake greeted me in his normal way: Through his snakes. He quickly walked towards the front of the carriage and grabbed a snake from under the front left wheel. "Thanks for stopping, says Goethe." Snake said as the supposed Goethe slithered up his arm. Snake walked out of the carriages way and stood in front of us. Jae shook her head and smiled. "Sebastian," she whispered,"Who's this?" I turned to her and smiled. "This is Snake. A snake charmer from a circus I've encountered years before." Jae held back a laugh and nodded.

"Okay. He seems rather interesting." Jae laughed. 'Oh he is,' I thought. I figured that Snake was somewhere around, just not here. Snake walked up to us and eyed Jae. "You're very beautiful, says Dan." He complimented Jae and she blushed. "Umm, Dan?" She asked. Snake looked up at me as if waiting to see if he had permission to speak to her more. "This is Madame Jae, Snake." I introduced Jae to him. Snake stared blankly at Jae, and his snakes slithered around him in excitement. "Nice to meet you, Madame Jae," Snake bowed, "Says Wordsworth, Emily, Goethe, Oscar, Wilde, Webster, Bronte, Dan, Donne and Keats." Snake finished. There it is.

I smiled at Snake. "Nice to meet you too, Snake and Wordsworth, Emily, Goethe, Oscar, Wilde, Webster, Bronte, Dan, Donne and Keats." Jae laughed as the snakes hissed happily. Suddenly I saw something strange. A smile was on Snake's face. Oh my. How interesting. "Do you live anywhere here?" Jae asked. Snake's smile faded as he shook his head. "We've been walking for the past week, says Donne." Snake replied. Jae expression changed into a worried state. "You can't possibly stay walking everyday."

"What happened to you staying at the manor?" Sebastian asked. Snake shrugged his shoulders, figuring he didn't really know why. I saw his snakes were obedient to him and that he didn't have a place to live. 'Should we keep him?' I thought. I smiled at snake and his friends slithered around him. I shivered from the thought of having snakes in my manor, but I guess if they are attached to him like this, there would be no problem. "Would you like to stay at The Drowed manor, Sir Snake?" I asked. Snake looks at Sebastian and back at me, and a smile appeared on his face. "Yes, says Oscar." He replied and one snake hissed. "You must be Oscar." I guessed. Snake smiled even bigger. "I hear something, says Emily."

"Pardon?" Sebastian asked.

"Something is in danger, possibly hurt, says Donne." Snake replied again. Hurt? Snake ran passed me in a hurry and I looked at Sebastian in confusion. Sebastian smiled at me. "I believe the snakes are leading us somewhere important." Important? Does that mean they can help out with our cases? I ran after Snake and Sebastian followed me down the road, leaving the coachman. "This way!, says Keats." Snake called and turned a sharp corner. I looked around the corner and saw a small yet beautifully decorated house. The outside walls were green, and the roof and door were painted yellow as if a child had painted it. The windows were painted yellow as well, but the right window was broken. Snake ran into the house after we caught up to him. "Snake, wai-." Suddenly something caught my eye and I stopped. Sebastian stood beside me and noticed what u was staring at. A small mailbox with pink flowers on it had two names in purple captioned: The Brooks. A small pair of baby hand prints were under the names, and my heart began to ache. "Is this..." My voice trailed off. I raced into the house and searched for Snake. Glass from the broken window was shattered among the floor, and the chairs were flipped upside down. "Madame Jae, over here, says Emily." Snake called from another room, and I ran into the dark area. Snake had his ear against the wooden floor, and I looked around. This must be the parents room. A few portraits of the family were perched neatly on the shelves and I looked at them. One picture was of Matilda as a baby, and another was of her parents. Neil was standing next to a beautiful woman with a wedding dress on. This must be their wedding picture. I flipped the picture over and read the names. Neil and Samantha Brooks, married August 23, 1963, ten years ago. Snake suddenly gasped and began pulling at the floorboards. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Someone's down there and they sound hurt, says Webster." Snake replied and began pulling at the floorboards. "Allow me, Sir Snake." Sebastian called. He reached under the side of the floorboard and lifted the nailed wood from the floor. I then heard something muffled from underneath. "Mommy!" Matilda was coughing and wheezing from the lack of oxygen. I pulled her up and out of the small hole, and she gasped for air in my arms. "Matilda!" I cried and hugged her tightly. "I can't-...! Mom-!" Matilda cried. She was having an asthma attack! I ran into the living room and searched for the oxygen tanks. They weren't there. I searched the kitchen and found the tanks under the table. I sat Matilda in a chair and quickly set up the equipment. Sebastian helped me and turned the oxygen tank on. "Matilda, Matilda! Breathe! Breathe please!" I cried and placed the mask over her nose and mouth. Her eyes were closed and her face was pale like a ghost. She didn't move, and my eyes began welling up with tears. "Matilda! Matilda please! Breathe! Breathe!" I held her in my arms and rocked her softly. All was quiet, and my tears wouldn't fall. Sebastian watched me with worried eyes. I looked at him and shook my head. "No, no,no,no! No! No! She didn't deserve this!" I cried. "This wasn't supposed to happen! Matilda please open your eyes!" I raised Matilda's face to mine and pressed my forehead on hers. "Please.." I closed my eyes and prayed that she would wake up. She can't leave me, not now. This wasn't supposed to happen to her. I promised her I'd protect her until the end. Until the end.. This isn't the end. Please don't be the end! My emotions were mixed with love, hurt and anger. Don't go Matilda. Suddenly something lightly brushed against my cheek, and I opened my eyes to see Matilda's eyes blinking open. "Mommy?"
