I held my hair back while James disinfected the wound. The room was very quiet and my leg shook in impatience. The way Sebastian looked worried me. I had never left his side so long before and having him separate from me made my heart feel out of place. James placed a bandage on my neck and smiled. "I believe this will do." He stated. I faked a smile and stood from the wooden chair. I thanked him and bowed politely. I turned around and began to walk to the door when something gripped my left wrist. I turned around to find James holding his grip on me. "Sir Henderson!" I called and tried pulling my hand back. His nails dug into my skin, and I tried pulling with all my might. "You are quick to leave my side. Why?" He asked, his nails digging deeper into my skin. His eyes, that used to be light brown, had turned dark and cloudy. My heart raced at the terrifying scene. "Release me, at once!" I cried. My wrist felt as if it was wrapped by a thick rope, and I couldn't free myself. What had gotten into him all of a sudden?
"Why did you try to leave?" James asked.
Why did I try to leave?
"I need to get back to the Sanctuary!" I exclaimed. "Your behavior is frightening me!" I freed my hand from his grip and gently caressed it. The marks were dark red, and I was afraid to look at James again. "I'm sorry." He apologized, but I refused to speak to him. James held his head and frowned as if he had a headache. I frowned and left the room holding my left hand behind my back. With all my heart, I hoped that James wasn't the killer.
I entered the Sanctuary, continuing to hold my hand behind my back. I hung my head and stared down at the floor. One look, and I would become entranced in his eyes.Snake eyed me closely, making my heart race as fast as it could. "Madame, are you all right, says Oscar." Snake asked and Oscar slithered to the other side of his head, his tongue slithering from its mouth. I shivered from nervousness and shook my head. "I'm fine." I replied.
As I stated down at the floor, I saw someone approach before me in black attire. I cant look up! I can't look into his eyes! If I tell him what happened when I was with James, who knows how he'll react? Wait, he is my butler. There's no reason for him to be angered by anyone else. But, before with Claude a few months ago, he became extremely tempered. His hand grabbed my chin and held my head up. I looked away and held my breath. "Jae, are you all right?" Sebastian asked. "Yes!" I exclaimed, but my voice shook.
I glimpsed at Sebastian, and my heart pounded at the sight of his eyes. He quickly reached to my hand that I held behind me, and I stepped back. He came closer again and gently grabbed my hand, but I kept refusing. "Madame, I can't be harsh with you." He complained and held my chin again. My body was shaking as he stared at me with red narrow eyes. He looked ready to kill, and I was now horrified at the sight.
He took hold of my arm and pulled it from behind me. As he examined the deep marks, his eyes shined brighter, and he frowned in anger. "What happened, says Oscar?" Snake asked. Sebastian's eyes averted to mine, and I bounded from fright. "He didn't-"
I was cut off by a sudden scream. The loud voice echoed through the Church and Anna screamed in terror. "What's happening?" I asked, and Snake frowned. Anna continued to cry as the building seemed to shake. Snake comforted her as she cried and Sebastian released. "We can talk later." He stated, and my heart fell. He was angry.
James walked into the Sanctuary smiling with blood on his face and an axe on his hands. What happened to him? I stepped forward and tried to calm my heart rate. "James! What happened?" I asked. James stopped completely, and his smile faded. "I'm afraid it's time for you to leave."
I frowned at his words and watched the axe in his hands. "What do you mean?" I asked. Anna stood by Snake, frozen in fear. "Brother, please," she called, "Tell us what's wrong with you!" She demanded. James gripped the axe tightly and eyed Sebastian angrily. "James!" I called, but he wouldn't listen to me.
"James!" Anna cried. "Please stop!"
"There's no need to stay anymore." James rested the axe on his left shoulder and sighed. My legs wouldn't move, and my heart felt ready to explode at the sight of someone who once smiled so kindly at me. He seemed so nice yesterday, but now I can't strand to look at him. After he held me with such force, I can't believe I was ever kind to him. James' eyes averted towards his sister, and she shook from his glance. "Anna," he called softly, "wouldn't you like to do as mother asked and follow your brothers doing?"
"Of course, but-" Anna was cut off by the sudden echo of the axe contacting the ground. "Anna! Don't be a naughty girl. Do as your sibling had asked of you." James commanded.
All was silent until someone grabbed my wrists and pushed them towards my back. Anna was holding me down! "What is this? Mrs. Henderson, release me at once!" I demanded and began struggling to break from her grip. For a frail woman, she was incredibly strong. "Jae!" Sebastian dashed towards me, and the axe that was being wielded by James came crashing in front of him, missing his arm by an inch. "Black!" Snake called and ran over to them. Anna reached behind me and something cold was clamped around my wrists. "What are you doing? Let me go!" I cried and began kicking at her legs. Anna's hand shook as she raised it by her head, her eyes filling with tears. "Shut up!" She exclaimed and swatted her hand onto my face. I fell on my back and the pain in my wrist burned like raging fire. In seconds the heated sensation covered my cheek, and I couldn't move, for I was too shaken from shock. She hit me.
She reached in the pocket of her dress and uncovered a silver blade. She pinned me down with tears in her eyes and her hand quaked as she held the blade.
"Wait!" I called, and she paused. "Was all this just an act? Did you kill those people you called your friends?"
She held back tears and bit her bottom lip. "I had to.." she said and held the blade above her head. "I had to lie to you, and I'm sorry for that, but my mother asked me to follow my brother's word. Killing anyone in his way is what I shall do."
"But it doesn't have to be that way!" I stated. "You can't simply-"
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Anna cried, and her tears fell onto my cheeks. "I'll kill you! I'll do anything to make you stop nagging me!"
Sebastian's POV:
The axe came down upon me, and I quickly held the sides of the edges. The palms of my hands were being cut slightly to break of blood. "Black!" Snake called. I averted my gaze to him and applied more pressure against the blade. Asking much of him would be unnecessary in a complex situation like this one. "I'll kill you!" I heard Mrs. Henderson and looked over at her. She pinned Jae down onto the floor, and she held a blade tightly in her hand. "I'll do anything to make you stop nagging me!"
My chest suddenly grew tight and my throat clenched tightly, and I felt as if I was choking.
Jae!
Jae!
"Sir Snake!" I coughed his name and kicked the axe out of my way. I fell to my knees and held my chest, groaning in pain. My limbs were shaking furiously, and my chest tightened. "Black!" Snake called my name. My body is becoming weak. Jae...
-
Anna aimed the blade at my head and I trembled in fear. "Anna!" I called. As the blade came down upon me, Anna's hand froze near my head. The tip of the blade was a few centimeters from my head and my heart raced. "Stop.....stop it..!" Anna dropped the blade next to my head, and I looked down at her dress. A snake was wrapped around her and squeezing her tightly. "Oscar!" I called, and Anna fell on her back, gasping for air. I turned to see Snake holding James down, and Sebastian lied on the floor. Seeing him lie there motionless made my heart wither.
"Sebastian!"
