"I give you, The Golden Goddess." Master called. I stared in shock at the golden statue of me. My body shook at the sight of it, and my head became light and fuzzy.
"Oh how beautiful!"
Beautiful?
"What a lucky woman to be honored in such a fine way!"
Lucky is not the word I am thinking of..
I held my head and closed my eyes shut, hoping the light sensation would go away. Everyone was praising the remarkable statue and it's creator. I looked up at the face of the statue and frowned. Maddie gasped. "Oh my! It's Jae.." She said, and Maddie stared in awe. Her eyes were focused on the tall bright object and her mouth was partially open. "Now, for the last moment of the Masquerade ball!" Master introduced and looked at his brother. León frowned and turned to the orchestra. "Enjoy the music." Master said and smiled. The orchestra began playing, and a sharp pain struck the sides of my head and it felt as if my head was being inflated. Everyone screamed in pain, and Maddie covered her ears as well as Matilda. "Sebastian!" I called. Something covered my ears, and I couldn't hear a thing. I opened my eyes and saw him looking dead at me. Everyone was lying in the floor, unconscious. Sebastian removed his hands from my ears, and I heard the music stop. "What happened?" I asked.
"It appears the music has given off a certain range of sound to make the guests fall unconscious." Sebastian replied. I looked at Maddie who was lying on the floor with Matilda in her arms. The look of pain was plastered on there faces and my body suddenly felt heavy. "Maddie! Matilda!" I called their names, but they wouldn't move an inch. "They can't hear anything."
I turned to see Master sitting on a dining table with a wine glass in his hand. "At least nothing but a high pitch chord ringing in their heads." He laughed as his head turned to me. León sighed and removed his mask and so did Master. They both had light smooth skin, long blonde hair, and their eyes were a light green color. Master showed me his face, and I blushed. He was surprisingly beautiful for a male. "We meet again," Master stood from the table and winked at me, "Madame Jae."
I felt a cold rush tickle my spine and I scratched my arm. They both were twins completely alike. I couldn't tell them apart. "Now, would you please calm yourself?" Master asked. I looked at Sebastian, who was frowning in anger. I wonder what he is thinking about the current situation. "Did you enjoy the admiration of your statue?" Master asked and walked up to me. His blonde shiny hair fell upon his shoulders, and his lips curled into an adorable smile. "It wasn't part of my expectation," I looked at the shiny sculpture,"but your choice in color is quite nice." I smiled. Master reached his hand towards my cheek, but was stopped by Sebastian. I froze as Sebastian gripped Master's wrist tightly. "So sorry," Sebastian apologized and released his grip, "but my mistress is not comfortable with your gesture." He gave a sly grin as Master nodded. "Of course. How rude of me." Master bowed respectfully, and I frowned at him. He might be trying just a little too much. "Just tell me why the hell you sent me an invitation for this ball." I demanded. Master looked over at León and smirked happily.
"We wanted to show you your clone."
Clone? I frowned in confusion and placed my hands on my hips. Sebastian was also confused and stared at the tall statue. He suddenly smiled and laughed quietly. "How clever." I looked up at Sebastian as he stared in space, possibly thinking. "What?" I asked. Master laughed in amusement and sighed. That's the crazy humor I remember from before. I heard something move hastily, and the sound of rocky gravel echoed through the ballroom. I turned around to see the statue moving! Its eyes opened as if it was awakening from temporary slumber. The gold coating paint rolled off like shriveled paper, and a complete replica of me was underneath smiling. "Have you finally caught on?" Master asked and took the hand of the clone. She stepped off the podium and grabbed a hold of Master's arm as if it were her life. "Isn't she adorable?" He asked. My eye twitched in frustration at seeing my self wrap around that man. It's revolting! "She is, but," Sebastian placed his hands on my shoulders and smirked, "she's not the real Jae. The real Madame Jae Drowed is one of a kind."
Master frowned at his words. León stepped next to his brother and the clone grabbed his arm and smiled. "That may be, but does Jae have two of you?"
She talks. This just gets better and better. I crinkled my nose at her disgusting behavior. "No, I don't have two men, but Sebastian is the only man I need by my side now." I said and smiled. If I'm talking to another me, then does that mean I'm arguing with myself? León eyed me and sighed. "He's not your husband?"
"No" I replied. "I'm sorry for lying Sir León." I bowed my head to León, and he blushed. "How rude." Master called and pouted. "You bow down to my brother instead of me?" I looked up at Master and laughed. "Why would I?" I asked. "You were the one who abused Matilda." I brought back memories of first meeting Matilda in the alley covered in bruises. "Oh yes. Matilda." Master eyed Matilda as she lied on the floor in Maddie's arms. "She was a very good little girl." Master grinned at me and winked. His actions made me nervous. "Its amazing how much you sacrificed just to protect her." Master slipped away from the clone's grip and stepped towards me once again. Sebastian stood in front of me like an overprotective parent. "Calm down, butler." Master called. "I just want to talk."
Sebastian stood his ground. I looked at Sebastian and suddenly saw something. His face changed and his hair grew a little longer. What is this? "Daddy?" I called. I saw him. My father was standing here in front of me. "Jae!" I heard Sebastian's voice and blinked my eyes. My father was gone, and ,in his place, was Sebastian. "Please stay focused, Madame." He suggested. I nodded and felt my face go hot after realizing I had just called Sebastian 'Daddy'. How embarrassing! "This conversation is very dull." Master called. "Go after Jae." He ordered the clone and she smiled happily. "Of course, Darling."
Darling?
Jae dashed toward me, and Sebastian was just about to block her attack when someone caught him off guard. Sebastian's shoulder was cut by a knife, and he flipped backwards, landing on one of the dining tables. "Please, do not interrupt my master's doing." A familiar voice made my body shake in fear. Claude appeared with a smile on his face. "Master. My orders?" Claude asked. Master pointed to Sebastian with a grin on his face. "Distract the demon butler." He ordered. A yellow glow emitted from Claude's eyes, and I knew. Master was his true contractor.
Claude's eyes glistened it's yellowish color, and he dashed toward Sebastian, knifes in his hands. Jae quickly headed for me throwing her fists in my direction and I stepped back avoiding her attacks. "This is ridiculous!" I cried and managed to grip onto her wrist. With all my might I threw her over my shoulder and onto the floor. A sharp sting began to augment in my ear, and I held my head in pain. I saw ,through my blurry eyes, Jae stand back up.
I can't believe I'm fighting myself again.
