Someone.
I'm calling someone out there.
'She's gone mad' they were saying, but I was not. I was completely sane like any of them, as normal as ever. I just needed someone to fill the empty space in my heart. The space my father left. My father had passed long ago, and I was still trying to find who did it. I was only eighteen when someone tried to kill me in an alley. I was taking a quick route to home; the alley, for one night and I believed that nothing would happen. I was surely mistaken.
A tall man covered in a grey cloak, emerged from behind the turning point of the alley and pounced on me. He grabbed my arms and pulled them behind my back, pushing me against the brick wall. My right cheek was pressed against the hard bricks as he ran his hands through my dress as if searching for something. "Stop it!" I screamed, and he covered my mouth.
"Say anything else and you die." His words were harsh, and his tone of voice was lodged into my memory. Proving his statement, I heard a sharp click from behind me and felt something cold and rough press against my head. I closed my eyes hoping he wouldn't pull the trigger, when he moved me the wrong way. My body was turned to face him, and he pressed his body against mine, holding his gun to my forehead. His cloak formed a shadow over his face, so I couldn't see him perfectly. "You're so weak." he whispered, and I shook at his voice. I wanted to speak up, but if I said something wrong, he would have blasted me right in my head. "You're not going to fight back?" He asked and caressed my cheek, which made me shake even more. "You are weak like all the women here in this world. Aren't I right?" He death threateningly tapped the gun against my head, and I opened my eyes. I saw his eyes, black and shiny staring back at me. With a weak and pitiful voice, I nodded. He pulled away from me and aimed the gun to my head. I hated him.
I hated him since then.
I hated him!
Him and the other man who killed my father!
I hate them all!
Then, in the midst of my thoughts, everything went black as if he had pulled the trigger. Had I fallen too my death? Had I been killed by him? The darkness brightened, and I saw a small crow sitting far from where I stood. I looked down at my body and found a cloak wrapped around me, baring my brown skin."What the hell?" I said. My voice carried off in the distance, and I frowned.
"You are quite the lady." A low voice called, and I looked at the darkness around me. No one was there, yet the voice spoke up again. "You smell like hatred."
"I would say thank you if I knew what you meant." I replied.
"It was of course a compliment for a lady. Your soul seems simply beautiful to me."
I smiled. It was another man who is just as wicked as the others. At least that's what I thought. "Flattery will get you nowhere."
"Oh, becoming a strong woman now are you? You seemed quite hopeless before."
Had he seen what was happening? "How do you know that?" I asked, and my heart races as the words slipped from my mouth. Come to think of it, I found out I was talking to the crow, for nothing else was around but it. "I saw what that man was doing to you. Tell me," the voice grew closer making me become cautious of my surroundings, "do you believe in supernatural beings?"
The question was very odd to ask at a moment like this, but I carefully thought of my answer. 'Supernatural beings,' as in the afterlife of demons and angels? Why would I believe in such fantasies? To be ruled over by a God, refusing to do Satan's dirty work, it sounds like supernatural beings are already taking over everyone's mind.
"No," I replied feeling my heart jump, "I do not believe."
"And why?"
I clenched my fist and frowned. I know why. Why I don't believe. Reasons no one could understand, but ignore like they always do. The first step in understanding is believing, isn't it? So why can't anyone believe that what happened to me has caused me to hate so many? "I do not believe because," I felt my body begin to shake again and my heart pounded in my chest, "because I prayed to God that my Father would live on until I was fully grown."
Tears welled in my eyes, and a rush of anger developed inside me, forcing to be pushed from within. "He was killed the day after I prayed! As soon as I noticed, God had destroyed my wish! I didn't want to believe in him anymore, for he had stolen the one thing precious to me!" The tears were rushing down my face and fell onto my chest. "I won't forgive who did it either!"
"Would you believe me if I told you the one you are currently speaking to was a demon?"
"I wouldn't believe it."
I felt a huge wave of cold air surround me, making my eyes wince. "Oh but you must believe, for you have summoned me here with your hatred. I'm simply returning the favor."
A form of black feathers appeared in front of me, and a pair of glowing red eyes were faintly visible. I hadn't come to believe in such unbelievable sights, until I met him. "What favor are you returning?"
"What favor? Why, the favor of retaliating your Father of course. Do you not wish to avenge him?"
Pain crossed my chest as I remembered my hatred of who killed him. With a faint voice, I replied. "Yes..I do want to avenge him."
"Excellent. I will be your faithful companion until you die. And in return, I shall take your wonderful soul for my work."
Take my soul. Precisely what a demon would say. I hadn't noticed before, and I didn't bring myself to believe that a demon was right in front of me. How could I not believe when the real thing was staring back at me with such red eyes? I had to believe in order to avenge my Father. I will find who killed him.
"Do you wish to sign a deal with me?" The devilish voice asked. I'll do whatever it takes to avenge my Father.
"Yes." I replied. The sudden voice began to laugh in amusement. "Signing your soul from the heavens and giving it to the demon child of the devil is what you want?" The voice asked. "Yes!" I replied. "Well then. The black seal on my hand shall sign our contract." A dark shadowy hand reached out to me in lightning speed. "I shall place the seal on your beautiful skin!" The hand grabbed my leg and a burning sensation drilled its way into my body. "Ah!" I cried. The hand released me, and a handsome man appeared before my eyes.
"Now my dear, I am yours until you fulfill your goal." The man had shiny black hair, red eyes, and he wore a black tuxedo and shoes. "What is your name?" I asked. He laughed under his breath. "My last master called me...Sebastian Michaelis. My lady, Give me an order."
Suddenly I was back in reality and the man smiled as his gun stamped against my head again.
"Give me an order." I could hear his words still loud and clear.
"Sebastian." I called. The man frowned and stood back with the gun still aimed at me. "Sebastian, I order you to kill this man!" I yelled and the trigger was pulled. I stared at what I thought was death, but what I saw was actually the face of the devil. His fingers had easily grabbed a hold of the silver bullet, that was extremely close to my forehead. It was him.
Sebastian Michaelis.
He admired the silver bullet and smiled at the man. "How rude of you to try and eliminate such a beautiful young lady." He complained and dropped the shiny item into the man's pocket. Did he catch that thing airborne?
"You may be an ordinary man, but I'm afraid my Mistress wants you dead." Sebastian smiled and began pulling off his clean white gloves with his teeth. "Madame." He turned to me, his expression turning serious. "Please close your eyes."
I nodded and quickly shut my eyes.
All I heard were horrid screams of agony. So he was a demon. I made a contract with a demon, but I'll never regret it.
