I had been sitting in the car for half an hour, burning a whole through the aquarium front doors. Nash had some explaining to do when he found his way out.

Nash had told me that he did stand up things and was found on the Internet, but now I believed it was a lie. The rude crowd of paparazzi were asking him political and economical questions. Why would a comedian guy answer those?

I pulled out my BrilliantPhone (much smarter than the ancient IPhones) and clicked the search button. I typed out Nash's name and clicked the big 'GO' button.

Thousands of websites popped up within less of a millisecond. But as soon as i clicked on a link, the driver door opened. Nash hopped in and quickly buckled his seat belt.

He didn't speak, but he gripped the steering wheel tightly enough to nearly break it in half. I had turned my phone off without looking at the Nash page. He seemed angry enough as it was.

The car sped on to the highway. He started at 50 miles per hour, then 60, 70, 80, 95.

"Nash. Please calm down. They didn't ruin anything!" I spoke softly.

His foot pressed down harder. Now we were at 105 mph and it only started to go faster from there.

"STOP THE CAR NOW!" I screamed at him.

You know how before someone dies they say they see their life flash before their eyes? Well it's not a lie, every moment I ever lived through went by in the blink of an eye as the Ferrari flipped off the intersection.

I heard myself scream and felt my mind give in to the idea of death. I thought I was going to die because of a guy I barely knew.

'This is how I'm going to die? Just days after I've escaped death.'

The car didn't crash into a tree or land upside down. Instead it hit the ground hard, but Nash kept driving. I now realized we were on a small dirt road.

He had slowed down tremendously and for that I was thankful. He still gripped the steering wheel tightly, but his face looked much more relaxed.

"Nash? Are yo-"

"I'm meeting some people, but you have to stay hidden in the car. They aren't safe for you to be around." He kept his eyes on the dirt path as he told me what to do.

"I'm so sorry this isn't a good date. I need to explain some things to you. But when I go, please don't try to look me up on your phone. I liked that you didn't know who I was." His voice sounded angry. I nodded in understanding, but in reality I was pissed at him for lying to me.

"Who are you?" I asked wearily.

The car came to an immediate stop and Nash turned and took one of my hands. His eyes were filled with passion and love, something I've never felt.

"I will explain everything to you. I don't think we met by a terrible accident. I think it's something called fate. I know this is overwhelming, but i will explain. I promise." He gently squeezed my hand then got out of the car and walked into the forest.

Once again I sat alone in the car, but this time I was dumbfounded. What did Nash mean? Fate? We wouldn't have met if I wouldn't have almost died.

I took out my phone and did exactly what Nash asked me not to do. I was not about to listen to a liar.

The link i had clicked on earlier was already pulled up. I skimmed through it quickly, not sure how long he'd be gone.

'May 27, 2068

Nash Grier is the first of the Pernicious to join the alliance for freedom. Can he really be trusted with our lives?'

'December 8, 2068

Things are rapidly starting to get better thanks to Nash Grier and his followers. The war is nearly over and it looks like humanity will win.'

'June 19, 2069

Nash Grier is the leader of the Americas and promises to make life worth living again.'

'June 19, 2069

A Pernicious takes over the Americas. is it for the best or does Mr. Grier have a plan of destruction?'

I held my breath as i read and reread the articles. They were stating that Nash, the guy I was with, was not just any Pernicious, but the leader of the Americas.  I had never gave much attention to politics, in fact I thought the leaders name was Nate or Nick or something of that nature.

'Damn I need to stop avoiding politics and present day government.'

I went through the last week with him. He had seemed like a normal, famous guy. He was sweet, caring, thoughtful, funny, kind, and nothing like any Pernicious.

Then I remembered how offended he had gotten when I told him I hated all Pernicious. His eyes had gone dark for a split second. Maybe his plan this whole time was to gain my trust and then murder me slowly.

Without another thought I lifted the sports car's door and started running in the opposite direction Nash went. I ran without knowing which direction I was going in. Which way was the road?

'He was probably going to kill me out here. He must have lots of self control.'

I felt like I was flying through the forest. My body told me to stop and breath, but my mind told me to run faster. I spotted a break in the trees and tried to run faster, but something large and very hard ran into me. I flipped in the air and fell to the ground. My head hit a log and i was out for several minutes.

Above my limp body, i could feel a prense hovering over me. My head pounder furiously from the pain as i tried to open my eyes. I felt like I was going through deja vù. As soon as my eyes opened I saw these evil red eyes. I couldn't possibly escape this time. I had experienced to many near deaths situations to live through another one.

"Nash?" I breathed.

The creature looked down on my and smiled at my pain. It wasn't Nash. He wasn't coming to save me this time.

"Nash's girl huh? We could use you. I don't understand how he can love your species so much." The creature stood up and spit near me, "You're low life kind isn't worth out time."

I remained quiet as the deadly man circled me. His eyes never leaving my body. I wanted to scream, to run, hell I'd even go back to Nash.

"Get up." He commanded.

I did as the monster wished, hoping to save myself or at least delay my death. He went behind me and pulled out handcuffs. He pulled my hands behind me and cuffed them together. I flinched in pain as he tightened them beyond the limit. The cool metal dug into my skin harshly and i felt a warm liquid run down my fingers.

"We will rise again." The evil creature whispered into my ear before violently pushing me. I fell once again and he laughed.

"Stupid human. Walk!" It yelled.

I felt tears run down my face as I moved. I regretted leaving the 'safety' of Nash's Ferrari.

We walked through the forest for what felt like forever. In actuality it was only twenty minutes. We broke into a field between the trees .

My heart stopped beating when I looked up from the ground.

Countless pairs of blood thirsty red eyes glared back at me.

I don't remember what happened after I saw all of the Pernicious; I just remember falling to the ground. An ear deafening scream flew through my lips before I completely blacked out.

Only one thought ran through my head as i greeted death.

'I'm sorry Mom. I tried to survive. I tried to live a normal life for you and Marisol. I love you guys. Please help me through this.'
