When the boat was docked I ran. I ran as fast as I could away from Nash. My mind was telling me to go as far away from him as I could, while my heart told me to turn back. I wanted to stay in his arms, but at the same time I wanted to escape his grasp.

That kiss. That stupid, stupid kiss messed everything up. It wasn't a bad kiss, in fact I felt sparks. That's what scared me.

Running away from him was a dumb move. His species was faster than any other creature known to man, so thinking I could out run him was silly of me. I pushed past a few trees before I was spun around.

His arms wrapped around me as he pressed my body to his. My heartbeat sped up, but i didn't know if I was scared or nervous.

"If you're trying to play tag, you should know I will always win." Nash whispered in my ear. I felt his lips press to my temple and a shiver of awe swooped through my body.

He threw me over his shoulder and within a few seconds we were at the cabin. My arms dangled down his back as he held onto my legs to keep me from falling.

"I know how to walk. Please put me down." I muttered viciously.

He laid me down on the living room couch and put his hands up in surrender. His eyes wandered my exposed body. I felt self conscious, so I quickly went to change out of the bikini.

Before I could make it to my room, however, Nash's hand found my wrist and spun me towards him.

"You look fine babe." He commented. He was so close I could feel his breath on my neck.

My hands fumbled trying to push him away. After a moment of pushing, I gave up and let my arms fall to my side.

He kissed my throat. I forced myself to suppress a moan as Nash's lips sucked at my neck. I wanted to run my hands through his hair, but I urged them to stay at my side in fists.

He moved his lips up, until he was kissing the corner of my mouth. I could pucker my lips out and we'd be kissing. Nash didn't kiss me like I expected him to, instead he froze in his spot waiting for me to make a move.

To say resisting the urge to kiss him was hard to do would be an understatement. Everything about him drew me in. Any other girl would gladly lock lips with this perfect man in front of me.

Just as I was about to give in to his wants, he pulled away. An aggravated sigh left his lips. He turned around and walked away from me.

"Be ready by five. There's dresses in the closet. Dress nicely." Nash ordered and after he gave me instructions, he was gone.

I stood there dumbfounded for a few moments, before I gathered myself and made my way to the bedroom. I opened the closet and immediately felt my face redden. There were dozens of lingerie items hanging on the racks and past those were some skimpy looking dresses.

Nash said to wear a dress and I didn't want to upset him, but this wasn't my style. I searched through the dresses, until I found a decent-ish looking one.

It was a maroon color and flowed down to the floor. The dress had one strap and a low V-neck. Although I wasn't fond of the top, it was still better than the other dresses.

I made my way to the bathroom and stepped in the shower. After I finished washing my hair and body, I applied some makeup and curled my hair. I sighed as I picked up the dress.

I shrugged it over my shoulders and let it fall into place. It hugged my body in all the right places. Although I hated all the cleavage it showed, I did approve the rest of the dress.

I sighed as I examined my reflection in the mirror. My light brown eyes popped out through my black eyelashes and winged eyeliner and my lips were shiny thanks to my lipgloss. My black hair bounced into its curly spots after I put my diamond earrings in. Even though I was scared of my feelings towards Nash, I had to admit that he knew how to make a woman feel like a million dollars.

There was a rough knock on the bathroom door. It caused me to jump, but luckily I didn't loose my balance. I waited for Nash's voice.

Silence.

"Nash? I'm almost done." I wasn't going to wait all day for him to question my whereabouts.

I slipped on my gold flats and a gold necklace. Not just any necklace though, my necklace from Nash. Although everything else from Nash was hidden in my closet, I still wore my lucky clover necklace everyday.

The bathroom door opened with a creak. The hallway was dimly lit. I poked my head out the door and realized that small candles were lit along the wall.

"Nash?" I called out. No response.

I walked out into the hallway and took a few steps. Something was sticking to my flats, so I lifted my foot to inspect the source.

Rose petals? Really Nash?

I followed the candles and roses into the dining room. On the table was dozens of tiny candles on top of the rose petals. Two chairs were facing each other at either end with elegant covered plates in front of them.

There was a note under one of the wine glasses. I slowly made my way toward the note (careful not to catch my dress on fire).

Verona,

I'll be back soon. Something came up with work. Please feel free to eat without me. I did not like the idea of leaving you alone, so Cameron will be there by five.

See you soon love,

Nash

An annoyed breath came out of my mouth. Just as I sat down to eat, the front door flew open. Cameron came in and quickly shut the door, so no wind would enter the cabin.

"Damn I haven't been here in forever! Oh hey, Verona! Did I interrupt anything sentimental?" Cameron chuckled.

"I was just about to figure out what's under this platter. Care to join?" I smiled at him.

"You look ravishing. And rose petals? How sweet of you! Are we on a date?" Cameron winked as he took a seat at the other end of the table.

He was wearing some jeans and a tshirt. I laughed our differences in clothing.

"Nash didn't tell you he's trying to set us up?" I remarked sarcastically.

"Well if Nash insists, my lady, let's dig in." He grinned and started counting down from three. When he got to one we both lifted up our lids and dug into the Italian food before us.
