Was It All A Dare? {Jonah Marias}

~:Chapter Thirty-Nine:~

I get to the start of the hike I wanna take her to. Well it's not a big hike but hey it's beautiful. I ran out and opened her door and smiled and took her hand as she got out. She did a little courtesy and laughed.

"Okay Mr. Roth Frantzich where too?" She said with her cute little fake British accent.

"Well Ms. Deming if you follow me you'll see." I said as I started waking up the hill. Like almost 20 minutes later we are up the hill and looking at the view of almost the whole town we are watching as we see lights starting to pop on.

"This is so pretty. All of the lights coming on I never knew how pretty it is." She said as she is starring at the view.

"Not as pretty as you are." I said looking at her. She smiled wider and punches me.

"Jonah stop it." She said laughing. After s while she sighed. "I want things to be like this all the time I don't want high school to end." She said while wrapping her arms around me.

"But we will always have each other." I said looking down at her.

"You promise?" She asked as I see her eyes water up.

"Always." I said wiping her eyes. I give her a big hug and kisses her head.

"Anyways," she said changing the subject. "You said you have a gift for me what is it." I smiled as I walked behind the rock Daniel hid the guitar. She looked shocked since she didn't see it there. I started playing a song I wrote her.

After the song she had this huge smile and ran up and gave me a hug.

"Dude you need to do something with that voice of yours. Also Jonah I love it!" She said smiling. She always tells me that but I wouldn't make it far I bet (A/N ;) ).

"It's a you day so forget about what I should do." I said laughing.

{hour later} I get the okay text so me and Alex walks down the hill and gets in the car. I grab the blindfold from the back and I gave it to her.

"Really? It's that much of a surprise." She said holding it.

"Of course! Why wouldn't I make it like that?" I said as she shakes her head.

"Do I really have to?" She asks.

"Yes now put it on or I'll do it myself and I super glue it." I said holding up the random super glue in my car.

"What the hell why do you have that?" She sounds more confused then worried at this point.

"Shh don't worry about it." I said as she starts tying the blindfold on her face. I made sure she didn't make it where she can see. Once I caught her I made sure she couldn't and then drove off.

As I was pulling up to the lake the person at the toll booth nodded his head for letting me in so we wouldn't blow our cover. I drove in on all the way to the other side of the area.

"I feel speed bumps." She said jokingly.

"Nooo we are running over kids." I said laughing and rolling my eyes.

"Not the kids!" She said with a gasp. I just laughed as I parked into the spot. "Can I take it off yet?"

"No wait." I said as I closed my door to walk her out. I walked her to the steps and then noticed the sand. I sat and thought about it as I look at her feet. Why did she wear sandals? Well I picked her up bridal style and walked her over to the cave.

"Why are you picking me up and my do I head water?" She asked clinging on.

"Cause that's the sound of the restaurant music. And I wanna pick you up." I said as I got closer to the cave. "Can't I hold my baby?"

"Well not if she feels like you are gonna murder her." She said as we walked in. I laughed and put her down.

"Why would I do that on your birthday?"  I said.

"Okay fineee. Now will you let me see it's been like an hour." She said.

"Complaining now huh and it's only been 20 minutes." I said as I started untying the blindfold. She just jokingly scoffed. I finally untied the blindfold and once it dropped everyone jumped up and screamed happy birthday. She backed up into me covering her mouth and had tears rolling down her cheeks by now. I gave her a hug from behind and kissed her cheeks. "Happy birthday princess."

"Did you do this?" She said when she finally had the chance to say words.

"No it—" I said before I got cut off.

"He's trying to be modest this was all his idea." Daniel said cutting me off and everyone else nodded.

"You guys helped make it happen though." I said. Alex shook her head laughing a bit.

"We wouldn't think about it without man." Jack said. I just stayed quiet.

"Well thank you." She said hugging me. "And all of you thank you." She went to go hug everyone else.

{hour later} We all hung out and dance and went in the water. After a while we decided to have her open the presents. Each one is perfect for her and everything. I am just getting more and more excited for my present. Once she hit her last one I started to get up. And walked closer to her. After she finished opening it and saying thank you I stood in front of her.

"Alex you still have one more present from me and I picked it out because for me it had your name written all over it. We've been together for a long time and sometimes off and on, but we always made it back into each other's arms at the end of the day. Everyday I tell you I love you and I make you so many promises and I'll never break any of them. So when I saw this gift I didn't think of just you I thought about your family and our friends. Your family is basically my family too, not just because of Reed, I promise to let them know that their daughter and sister is always safe and happy. And with our friends I promise to them that their best friend is never gonna be sad and she'll always be around to spill tea. Then for you I promise to give you the whole world to be there every corner to be your light in the dark and that I'll love you until death. But I wanna know," I paused as I pulled the promise ring out. "Do you promise the same to me?" Alex froze and tears started to roll down her cheeks.

"Jonah." She said quietly as she stood up. "I'll always promise that even if we lose sight of each other." She ran up and hugged me and then allowed me to put the promise ring on. She gave me a kiss and hugged me again. Her mom also came over and hugged me. Then everyone else.

We finished off her eighteenth birthday with all of us having a blast it was a night to remember forever.

{a couple weeks later//Alex's POV} Me and Ocean were at my house taking about battle of the bands and since it's starting soon. We want to win since the prize is to have a chance to get a producer but he's in New York. We would have to leave our home.

"It would be a good deal since we want to make music and actually go somewhere with the band." Ocean said.

"Yeah but everyone here." I said falling back.

"We can see them a lot. And plus we will separate anyways it's after high school." She said making a point.

"Okay okay. That's a good point let's do it!" I said jumping up. "Who knows we might not win anyways."

"But we will win! I believe in us." She said as she sent off the okay to the people we have been emailing. Here we go on a journey.
