"NO! Are you kidding?" My mother's voice thundered in the room as she stood from the couch. She looked between David and I as if she wanted to rip our heads off. In my opinion, thats exactly what would have happened if her dare sweetheart husband Micheal didn't hold onto her. "Are you two serious? I can't believe this! Do you know how disrespectful this is...obviously not to you two but for your parents. Oh my God!" I have seen her like this before. The night I watched her key my father's car and almost setting it on fire.

I didn't look away from her because she wasn't looking away from me. It was pure disappointment but everything feels so right except this one thing. Why couldn't she just accept it? I sighed.

"Rachel honey! Its thanksgiving. Calm down" He spoke as he stood up and held her shoulders. But she shrugged him off and looked at him in complete disbelief.

"There is no way in hell, you agree with this! Our kids want to get married. He is my son too and she is your daughter! Oh my God" She walked away but didn't leave this room. Micheal wanted to walk towards her but he didn't. "What are you guys thinking? that I would smile and let this go! David, you can have any female in this world and you decided that your step-sister was the one" Tears streamed out her eyes, I could see that she was hurt more than she was letting on. She didn't even address me and I kinda wanted her to atleast say something without resisting me.

"Mom! I can't help..." I started but my sentence didn't even get a chance to finish itself.

"You could! Mason was in love with..." I saw the realization in her eyes but tears soon blurred mine when she pointed an accusing finger to David but she just covered her mouth. Micheal stared at David in disbelief also. This was definitely my fault, if I wasn't so emotional when Mason broke up with me, they wouldn't have known anything about it.

"Its not David's fault!" I shouted and stood from my seat. "Its not his fault! Stop placing the blame on him. I made my decision all based on who I loved more and loved longest. David didn't push Mason away from me, I did that on my own. I don't need this right now! we didn't have to ask or tell you guys but we did...." I paused and looked at David who was looking at me with desperation in his eyes. "We didn't ask for this! it happened. She happened" I didn't look away from David, he just took my hand. "We wanted to get married because of our little girl" A single tear fell from my eye but I didn't breakdown any further because David soon stood beside me.

"You have a daughter!" Micheal questioned.

I looked at him and nod. "And she is 2 years old now but I wanted her to have a family. Not just a grandfather" I looked at my mother who was silent and in complete shook. "I decided to go live with my dad because I didn't know how to tell David about my pregnancy and I didn't want her to get hurt because of the...."

"Oh no! Don't you dare turn this on us" Mom spoke up and walked towards us but Micheal stepped in between and David stood infront of me. "I loved you Riley! Never once did I make you feel anything but love and care. I reject the idea of you marrying David. I always will but if you were honest...just be honest. I would never reject my granddaughter! no matter how she was produced." I heard her sniffles and soon they were muffled. "I was never a bad parent." She sighed.

"I was never a bad parent to either of you. For you to think that I would harm alittle innocent child!" I only glanced my mother's image as she walked out of the living area. My knees got weak as I broke down in sobs. I sat back in the chair that I occupied before and covered my eyes.

"I am so sorry Riley" I heard David's voice and I knew he was infront of me because I could feel his overpowering presence and his cologne was quite strong.  "I should have said something!".
