Twenty Three

Alice paced around her bedroom in the Swan-Mills house, not knowing what to do. She let out a groan as she sunk to her knees to retrieve a special weapon she kept under her bed.

She placed the long box on her bed before she stood up. She rubbed her forhead, deciding wether now is a good time to use it or not.

She slowly lifted the lid of the box to reveal her Father's sword that had been enchanted by Regina. Both Killian and Regina told Alice it was to be used only for emergencies due to the power it held.

"I can save them all with this sword. I know I can." She grabbed the sword, carefully picking it up and giving it small twirl, looking at every inch of the blade.

She carefully placed the sword on her bed before she pulled the black sheath from around her bedpost and wrapped it around her waist. She grabbed the sword once more and placed it safely in its holder.

"Don't let Regina see you."

Alice turned around to see Emma stood there with her arms crossed.

"It's the only way I feel like I can stop him from hurting who I care about."

"I know but Regina loves you, so do I but she...She just doesn't wanna see you have to fight like this. To be honest, neither do I. But you gotta do what you gotta do. In Purgatory you're the next demon hunter but here...You're the second saviour."

"Mum."

"No. When I lost my baby...I was so lost. Your Father and I ended, Regina was there but it felt like I was missing something. Then you came into my life. Okay, I thought you were my baby but you still saved me and even though you're not mine by birth...You will always be my baby. You will always have a home here even if you were to choose your birth family."

"Mum.."

"Look at me." Emma laughed as she felt her wet cheeks. "I'm crying. Y'know what. You better go before Regina comes in here and sees you."

"I love you Mum."

"I love you too Alice. I love you more than I love anyone. You are the light in my life. Be safe."

Alice smiled as she stood up tall and proud. "Always."

She walked to her bedroom window, carefully climbing out as Emma watched her to make sure she was safe.

Once Alice landed on the grass below she looked up, giving her Mother one last wave before running off in the direction of the Pawn Shop.

Emma watched tearfully as her daughter ran off into her first battle. As Alice ran she felt so much magic run through her veins. She finally felt powerful enough to do something.

She was going to save her family and nobody could stop her. Not even Rumple from the Wish Realm.
