Kaynani walked down the stairs slowly, biting her lip at the slight pain between her legs. She was cursing Oshawn out in her head while she played with the Roman numeral necklace he bought her. It had her birthday on it, her mother's death day.
"Ayo big sis happy birthday!" Cortrell smiled as he came out of the kitchen hugging her. Kaynani smiled softly and hugged him back, letting him squeeze her.
"I know you don't celebrate your birthday, but I talked dad into letting us ditch school so I can take you to Destiny's moms spa. She's giving us the full relaxation treatment, so I hope it can take your mind off the sad part of the day."
Kaynani stared at him with so much love before pulling him into another hug. She was so grateful for Cortrell and thanked god he came into her life everyday since the day she met him.
"Thank you." She whispered and he chuckled rubbing her back.
"It's okay sis, I gotchu forever. If nobody else do just know I do."
She pulled away and giggled pinching his cheeks. "You tried so hard to play tough at first, but I knew you were gonna be my sweet baby brother. I love you kiddo."
He playfully rolled his eyes and pulled away before looking at the necklace he's never seen. "Who gave you this?"
She looked down and her eyes widened slightly, completely forgetting Oshawn had snuck into her house.
"Oh um Oshawn he gave it to me yesterday." Kaynani lied smiling and he squinted his eyes at her.
"Mhm." He hummed nodding his head. "Iight cool enough talking we have an appointment!"
••••• Hours after spending most of the day at the day spa, Kaynani was walking in front of Cortrell who was covering her eyes. He said he had another surprise for her and she trusted him to drive since he didn't want her to know where it was. She no longer was in pain due to the wonderful masseuse and was very calm. So any thoughts about her mothers death, was gone.
