Kameera."But just like a baby I could not talk, and I tried to come closer but I could not walk. And I think of it every night, how I just could not get it right! Oh if we ever come close again, I know what I'll say then. Can we talkkk for a minute? Girl I want to know your name." Kam sang along to the music playing in the background as she parted her client Porsha's hair and started on a new braid.
"Girl I wish they still made music like that, I can't even turn on a radio station without cringing." Porsha told her, scrolling down Instagram.
Kameera shook her head and laughed. "Not cringe!"
"Girl yes straight up throw up in my mouth! Like I don't understand how my kids listen to this crap and actually enjoy it. I play some Tevin, Babyface, Donell Jones, Jodeci, or Fugees and they just act like it's so terrible. But they listen to some NBA lil baby or young body whatever his name is, like shit how many baby's in the rap Industry?! Don't even get me started on the nail polish wearing lil nigga with the dreads. I don't understand it."
"Shiiiid let me tell you something, my boys are the same way! They stay blasting Future and NBA Youngboy," Kameera giggled, looking up at the tv for a brief second as she finished braiding the end of the hair. "What most of these kids don't realize is, they were most likely created to these songs. I think that's what scares em, every song from the last inflicts a painful image of they parents fucking."
"Ha you damn skippy!" Porsha laughed. "I sholl busted it wide open to some Jodeci Feenin' and Freek'n You! Hell all my baby daddy had to do was pull up with some food, a fresh hair cut, and cut one of those songs on. We was on each other like white on rice! My kids should thank Jodeci for their lives."
Kameera busted out laughing. "Not thank them! You want them to send them a thank you card?"
"Yup." Porsha smacked her lips. "And slip my number in to tell DeVante Swing I'm still tryna see what that dick do."
"Whew bitch! DeVante Swing was something serious back then." Kameera fake moaned. "My lil ass swore up and down I was gone let him ruin my life."
Porsha turned around with a goofy smile on her face. "You were 16 when you had the boys right? What song do you recall playing during that baby making session?"
Kameera smiled and bit her lip, thinking about it. "If I recall correctly it was actually Usher Nice & Slow, and I was mad at him. He was trying his hardest to get back in my good graces and lord knows at 16 that boy had me doing things and in positions I shouldn't have been in. I went from ignoring him to screaming his name."
Porsha whistled and turned back around shaking her head. "Sound like all them 90s teenage boys! It's like all that baby making music was creating monsters. Especially that R. Kelly, before he had to go and fuck it all up by being a pervert."
Kameera smacked her lips. "Let's not act like back then it wasn't normal for a older boy and a younger girl to get caught seen together. He just did the most with it, specifically preying after them. The boy I was with was 18."
