•••••Cameron | Wednesday.
"Can you explain what you mean by chemistry? Cause I ain't sign up for science class." Cameron asked Professor Moore from the back of the class. His classmates laughed at him and somebody yelled out preach.
Professor Moore chuckled and shook her head. "Yes I was going to get to that today since we ran out of time last class. But to relieve a few of you from your worries this is not a science class. Though chemistry has everything to do with science, this class will cover relationship chemistry and if chemistry can develop over time. I had to sleep on how I was going to do this, but I've come to terms that I want to test this theory out with you all." She explained.
"So listen up because this is how you will pass my course. You all will be split up in pairs with someone you do not know and will be given a journal to document everything you've learned about that individual and progress your relationship with that person and how it changes from day 1 to the last day of this experiment. The goal is to focus on relationships and how important chemistry is in order for them to survive. And no I'm not just talking about relationships as in dating, I'm talking about friendship, companionship, partnership. Because every relationship you have in your life, requires some kind of chemistry."
A hand flew up and she called on that student.
"Yes Kiera?"
"Isn't Chemistry something that has to already be there? How will you pair people up If you don't know who has chemistry?"
Professor Moore walked over to her and smiled. "That's the point of this. I want to see if chemistry can be built from ground up. Kind of like arranged marriages, but more like an arranged partnership. The focus here to meet someone, observe them, learn about them, hang out with them, really build a relationship with that person. That's why I want you to document because this will require you to work hard. The only way you'll succeed is if you really want to. That's the only way this will work. But you won't be alone because that's what I'm here to for, I'll be facilitating everything."
Kiera nodded her head. "Okay."'
Turning back to the class Professor Moore walked over to her computer and grabbed the stack of papers she printed out, handing them out to everyone. "When I pair you up the experiment will begin immediately, when you have class for now on you won't have to come here Monday and Wednesday anymore because that's when you'll be expected to spend time with your partner and work on the lesson plans I will give out. Every Friday you will submit your journal in to me so I can read and keep track of whats going on. On Monday you will come and pick it back up from my office. That's the homework, and the final exam will be handing your completed journals over to each over. That will be the best part, being able to read about yourself through the words of another."
Cameron grabbed the paper from her and pulled it in front of him to read it as she continued to talk. He wasn't really feeling the whole idea of having to be partnered with somebody and spend a lot of time with them. He didn't like the thought of none of this truthfully. But he sadly couldn't drop cause all the classes he could replace it with were worse.
His eyes scanned over the lesson plans seeing she divided up assignments by weeks.
