Aries was laying on her back on the couch watching SVU and eating gummy worms. Her head was propped up on a pillow and her phone was laid across her stomach. Her phone kept buzzing from Nasir trying to get in touch with her but she ignored him. Just because Roman forgave him doesn't mean she had too.
Her father Gary walked into the living room on the phone, talking to one of his clients. He was a defense attorney, and a very successful one at that. He was always busy and Aries rarely saw him outside of his office. Only time she really spent with her dad was at dinner, when he was doing one of his breathing check-ups on her, or when he was asking her if she needed some money- or anything at all.
Aries mother passed away from breast cancer when she was 10, and ever since then her father has buried himself in work. She couldn't blame him, but at times she wished he spent more time with her like he used too. It was partially why she was so closed off and untrusting. Losing her mother really changed her, and everyone knew it. But no one knew how to help her.
"Hey sweetheart you okay?" He asked, lowering the phone from his ear.
Aries lifted her head up and nodded, and he sent her a smile.
"Good well I'll be in my office if you need me. I won't be able to cook tonight so if you get hungry order something, I left some money on the kitchen counter.
She nodded again and a knock at the door caught both of their attention. Her phone buzzed again and her eyes widened realizing Nasir might've decided to stop by, but before she protest her father had already went to open it.
"Nasir! If it isn't my favorite kid in the neighborhood." She could hear her father say, causing her to roll her eyes.
"Wassup Mr. Brown, I was just stopping by to hang with Ari."
"Oh of course, she's in the living room. I just told her to order some food," Gary told him and she frowned, palming her face. "I'm heading back to my room, so if y'all need me just come knock."
It really be your own family.
"Right on." Nasir smiled as he walked inside, closing and locking the door behind him. Gary headed towards the back of the house where his office was, and Nasir entered the living room greeting a glaring Aries.
"So you can't take a hint that I want to be left alone huh?"
He chuckled and kicked his shoes off, and she took in his laidback appearance. It was a little chilly outside so he had on a black Miami heat hoodie and some black sweats.
"Well hello to you too princess, but you really think I care about being ignored?" He questioned, playfully slapping her leg and she kicked him but he caught it laughing.
