••••• Melo. | Continued ❦
Searching up and down the house for Avery, he kept coming up short. She was nowhere to be found. Melo was growing more and more confused by the second. She said she had to talk to him and then just up and disappeared.
He jogged back down the steps, sending her a quick text message. Just as he was about to turn the corner he noticed the bathroom door fly open out of the corner of his eye, and he turned to see her. Avery, who was now wearing Lonzo shade, was heading straight for the front door. She needed to get the bell out of this house, and fast. She didn't even notice Lamelo standing at the end of the hall.
Melos eyes followed her, noticing how upset she was looking. He was about to call out for her but paused once he noticed his brother also leave the same bathroom. Lonzo had shut off the light and closed the door behind him.
His face scrunched up. "Zo?" He questioned, and Zo turned his head noticing him.
He bit his lip to hide his sad expression, walking over to Melo. "Wassup?"
Nodding his head in the direction Avery headed in, he made a face. "Why was y'all in the bathroom? Is Avery okay?"
Zo stood there and stared at his brother wondering if he should tell him the truth. It wasn't his business to get involved and tell Averys business, even if he felt incredibly bad for her. He still needed to be neutral and see it from both sides. She needed to tell him, not him. Plus who was he to say anything that would possibly upset his baby brother during one of the happiest nights of his life. Overall the situation was just tragic.
Somebody was gonna end up hurt either way.
"No, she's upset." He answered honestly. "I was just comforting her and talking to her to help her clear her head. She's pissed that you kept this from her, hell both of us are. She's just taking it a little harder but that's expected, she is your best friend." He said, telling him a portion of the truth.
Melo frowned at the thought of her leaving mad at him. "Damn. Man look I'm sorry I know I should've said something but I needed to make sure this was what I wanted on my own. With no interference. I genuinely love Carla and was completely caught off guard by my feelings for her. Hell you know better than anyone that I was the last person to see myself falling for somebody, let alone get married. It just feels right and I'm happy. I feel like crap right now though thinking about her being mad at me. Having her support is something I really value."
Lonzo shook his head. He could hear he sincerity in Melos voice, and he knew was serious. He really couldn't involve himself because it wasn't his place. Plus Melo was too stubborn to even listen to him if he tried.
