Chapter Three

Vanessa's Point of View:

Saturday. The day had finally come, and I wasn't ready for it. It was currently eight thirty in the morning, and I did not want to get up. I wanted to sleep in after my first full week of school.

"Vanessa get up, before I pour ice cold water over your head," my mom threatened.

Jumping up out of bed, I ran into the hallway, to avoid that from happening.

I heard my mom laugh as she came out of my bedroom. "Thought that would get you up,"

Rolling my eyes, I made my way into the bathroom to take a quick shower.

After that was done, I walked back into my slightly messy bedroom, and picked out an outfit for the day.

Seeing the weather was about eighty degrees, I wore a pair of black Hollister shorts with a blue tank top from American Eagle, with a pair of blue Nike flip flops.

Right as I finished blow drying my hair and putting it into a sock bun, I heard my mom call my name, telling me that Luke was here.

Making my way downstairs, my eyes went wide at the sight of Luke. His hair was pushed up into a quiff, instead of all long and flip like. It really brought out his eyes, I never realized how blue they were before. They were beautiful, like the ocean.

Stop it Vanessa. You don't like him. He isn't attractive. Keep telling yourself that.

"So where exactly are we going?" Luke asked my mom, with no expression on his face at all.

"That's up to you guys," my mom smiled. "I can either drive you somewhere, or you can walk somewhere,"

"How are you gonna know if we're together or not?" I asked, seeing that she didn't think this through at all.

"You guys tell me where you're going. I check up on you every hour or so. If you aren't where you say you are, you'll be grounded Vanessa. I thought this through pretty well."

I gave her a dead look. "Jesus mom,"

She laughed. "So where you heading on going?"

"Park?" Luke suggested.

"Sure," I shrugged.

"Park it is then. I'll check up on you two in an hour," my mom smiled and walked out of the room.

Walking out of the house, I turned to Hemmings. "Let's just get this over with,"

"Okay," Luke shrugged. "Oh by the way Ness, next time wear shorts that cover your ass,"

I slapped him playfully. "So you're staring at my ass?"

"No, your legs. Just by looking at them I can tell those shorts are slutty as hell," he grinned.

"Oh shut up," I rolled my eyes.

When we finally got to the park down the street, I saw that it was completely vacant. Running over to the swings like the immature teenager I am, I got on and started swinging as high as I could.

"You're such a child," Luke pointed out.

"Like you aren't?" I yelled from in the air. Luke rolled his eyes playfully and joined me on the swings. Eventually, we were having contests to see who could go the highest. I was obviously winning, I had natural skill when it came to things like this.

Getting off the swings because my legs were tired, I went and sat over in the grass. Laying back and staring at the clouds, I felt Luke lay beside me.
