Chapter Twenty
Vanessa's Point of View:
"Luke what are you doing?" I laughed, as he put a blind fold on my face.
"You'll see. I'm taking you somewhere,"
"Where?" I asked.
"It's a surprise,"
"I hate surprises." I groaned.
Luke laughed. "That's exactly why I'm taking you there,"
"What if I bump into something? I can't see, Luke," I stated.
"Babe it's okay, I got you." He said and kissed the back of my neck. I felt him grab my hand and pull me up, taking me out of his bedroom. After a minute, I knew we were outside because I felt the wind hit my face.
The weather was nice, it was perfect to go for a walk, which is what I think were doing. After a five minute walk, Luke took the blindfold off of my face, and I saw that we were in an unfamiliar area. It was a backyard, and our whole group was here.
"What's going on?" I asked, confusion probably clear on my face.
"We all know that you're hurting, Vanessa," Kendra sadly smiled.
"Okay?" I said, more as a question them a normal response.
"You need something to take your mind off of what happened today," Michael grinned.
It was true. My dad had been gone for a week, and the funeral was today. I sobbed when I was there, not knowing how else to act in the moment. Afterwards, I hungout with Luke for a few hours because I needed someone, and I was way too upset to be alone. All my friends were at the funeral, but Luke was the one that wanted to be with me after it was over. So now, I was confused as to why we were all in a random backyard.
"What exactly is happening?" I asked, no one in particular.
"This," Kendra and Michael smirked, holding up two bottles of alcohol.
My eyes went wide. "What the fuck, how did you even get that? And where are we anyways?"
"My house," Ashton laughed. "And it's my moms, she has no idea I took it. She won't notice though, there's so much more in the house."
I bit my lip. "I don't know about this.."
Luke wrapped his arm around my waist. "You don't have to do it. We all just thought why not, we all need to loosen up a bit anyway.. And we thought it would help you take your mind off things,"
"It feels wrong." I sighed. "What if we get caught?"
"We won't," Ashton assured me, "this house is fenced in, nobody will see us."
"Come on Vanessa, loosen up! We never get to do anything fun." Bethany whined.
"I usually wouldn't do this, but I'm okay for a one time kind of thing," Addison laughed.
I looked at Luke, not knowing what to say.
"You don't have to," he whispered, so only I could hear.
I sighed. "I'll do it,"
"Yay!" Everyone cheered.
After a few seconds, Calum came outside with a bunch of wine glasses.
"Everyone doing it?" He asked, with a grin on his face.
"Yep," Luke said, tightening his arm around my waist as we walked and sat down beside the rest of the group.
