Chapter Twenty-One
Vanessa's Point of View:
Seven Months Later
"Vanessa get up, you're gonna be late for your last day of school," my mom said, ripping my blankets off of me.
"Five more minutes," I groaned.
My mom laughed. "I gave you five more minutes, and Luke's here early to walk with you,"
I shot up in bed, throwing the blankets off of me. Going over to my closet, I quickly picked out an outfit. A blue cami from Aeropostale, and jean shorts from Forever Twenty One.
Straightening my hair quickly, I sprayed it so it wasn't frizzy. After my hair was done, I applied some mascara and eyeliner, like I usually do. When my imagine was complete, I ran to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. As soon as all that was done, I grabbed my phone and ran downstairs, to be greeted by Luke.
His hair was pushed up into a quiff, and he was wearing his regular black skinny jeans, and a black green day tank top.
I grinned as I approached him. "Damn, you look good today."
He grinned back, and leaned in to kiss me. Pulling away after a one second kiss, the grin was still on his face. "I guess I can say the same for you,"
"Ready for the last day of hell?" I laughed, and intwined our hands.
"Fuck yes," he nodded, the grin never leaving his face.
Just as we were about to leave, my mom came rushing down the steps, with my brother following behind. I walked towards Joey and lightly punched him. "Ready for your last day of middle school?"
He laughed. "Yep. I'm so prepared for high school."
"You say that now.. But you won't mean it later," Luke stated with a laugh.
Walking back towards Luke, I waved at my mom and brother. "We're going now,"
"Have a good last day!" My mom smiled.
"Thanks mom," I returned the smile, and left my house.
Walking down the street with Luke, I smiled as he wrapped his arm around my waist.
It had been seven months since the funeral. At first, it was really hard having to accept that my dad was really gone. But, my friends, Luke, and my family got me through it. I became majorly depressed at one point, and my mom made me go to therapy sessions, which helped. They made me open my eyes and finally realize that my dad's death was an accident, it wasn't mine.
After I started to get better, things went back to the way they were. I started going out again, I stopped hiding in my room. Life started to get better again, and it's been that way since.
I've mostly been spending my time with my friends, I was rarely ever at home nowadays. I went on double dates, and they were always so much fun.
Especially since Bashton and Caddison were now official.
Ashton had asked Bethany recently. They were best friends for awhile, and it was so obvious they had feelings for each other. They happened to be hanging out one day, and I guess they started talking about what and who they wanted in their futures, and that's how it happened. They told each other they wanted to be in each others futures, but not as friends. So as they had that conversation, Ashton asked Beth to be his girlfriend. And of course she said yes. They've been going strong for about a month, and they're happier than ever.
