Chapter Six
Vanessa's Point of View:
On Monday, I walked into school with Luke. Bethany, Kendra, and Addison still wouldn't talk to me, so Luke was my only friend at the moment.
As I stopped at my locker, Luke waved and walked away, silently telling me that he has to go to his. It was weird, being friends with Luke. It surprisingly wasn't awkward though, like I thought it would be.
As I got my stuff for first period, I walked through the halls alone. I walked by Bethany's locker, taking a peek at her for a split second. She made eye contact with me, sending me a death glare.
Looking away, I sighed as I walked into Algebra. Sitting in my assigned seat, Luke looked at me from across the room. He must've noticed the sad look on my face, sending a half smile my way. As Mrs. Bell walked into the room, I was taken from my thoughts, as I worked on the packet she handed out.
Halfway through the packet, my stomach started to hurt. Really bad. I knew that I was about to be sick. Getting up, I signed the hall pass on Mrs. Bell's desk, and hurried to the bathroom.
Ignoring the fact that my ex best friends were in the bathroom, I ran into a stall and let it all out. I could hear the quiet laughter of Kendra and Bethany. Sighing, I walked out of the stall, ignoring them. Addison just stood there, not laughing or anything, emotionless.
"Hey Vanessa? Still feeling fat?" Bethany taunted.
"Beth leave her alone," Addison said, defending me. Why the hell would Addi be defending me? Didn't she hate me?
"You've got toilet paper on your shoe," Kendra pointed out, while trying to hold back a laugh.
Looking down at my baby pink Vans, I rolled my eyes. I didn't have anything on my shoe, Kendra was just saying that for whatever reason.
"Fuck you guys," I muttered and left the bathroom.
"Slut!" Beth yelled as I walked out.
Finding my way back to Algebra, I sat down and continued working as if I never left. When the bell rang, Luke caught up with me and walked with me to my locker.
"You were in there for kinda awhile, is everything okay?" he asked, showing some concern.
Smiling, I nodded. "I guess,"
"What happened?"
"Beth, Kendra, and Addi were in there." I sighed.
"Did anything happen?"
"Bethany called me a slut," I told him, rolling my eyes as the scene replayed in my head.
"But you're not a slut." Luke said, with a confused look covering his features.
"Well she thinks I am, because of what happened at the party," I sighed.
"They'll come around eventually." he told me, shrugging.
"I doubt it. But anyways, I gotta get to my next class so I'll see you later."
"Bye Nessa," Luke called as I walked away. Something was weird, about being friends with Luke. I was actually starting to warm up to the name Nessa, it didn't bother me as much as it did. I would like it whole lot better if he called me Vanessa, but Nessa and Ness actually weren't that bad.
Sitting down in Physical Science, I heard Calum call my name. Turning around, I saw he had a weird look on his face.
"Are you still friends with Addison?" he questioned.
