"I didn't mean any harm — I am sorry!" She said, holding up her hands as she surrender.
Roder glance turn down to my dead mother before staring back at the fearful girl.
"You didn't mean any harm yet you kill the girl's mother?!" He yell, shoving his fist in the closest thing he got to causing the girl to jump.
She cried, tears streaming down her cheeks as her heart beat raise and fell quickly.
Roder bit his lips as he stare at the girl with hatred.
"Roder —" I call his name, his glance quickly flickering up to me as I walk in front of the girl.
"It's alright," I turn my gaze back to the girl, "Everything's fine." I added, turning back to Roder as I try my best to reassure him.
"She killed your mother —"
"I know."
"And she was going to kill you," He whisper, his voice going soft and cracking as he stare at me with hurt in his eyes.
"And she didn't," I responded, "Because of you." I smile at him, intertwining both of our fingers together in a way to calm him down.
"I'm so sorry." The girl mumble as she sit there on the floor.
"Please — Just don't call the police — I didn't mean it!"
"What should I do?" I whisper to Roder who took his phone out of his pocket and held it against his ear.
I raise an eyebrow as I watch him, "This isn't the time to be calling people!" I whisper yell at him as I playfully hit him.
"Yeah, we have a emergency." He nod, giving the person on the phone the address.
"Yeah, ok." He said as he press out the phone.
It was only then I realize he was talking to the police.
"I didn't mean it," The girl said as she sat there — rocking back an forth as she watch my mother.
"I didn't mean to kill you." She cried, her eyes widen.
"I did it for my brother, I needed revenge somehow!"
"He was all I had.. Now he's gone but I didn't mean to take your life as well."
"I'm sorry."
She stopped rocking — tears falling down her cheeks and also on my mother as she caress her cheek.
"I just wanted revenge but not like this." She cry, her voice cracking as she uncontrollably sob.
My heart ache as I watch her, feeling bad for what she was going through.
"It's okay." I said to her as I sit down beside her.
She turn around to me, "You don't understand!"
I shrug, "I may not but I'll like to."
She turn back around to my mother as she continue to sob.
"It doesn't matter, I'm just another selfish human being." She whisper under her breath.
