"Family is a word I just walk around with now. There's no meaning for it now to me because, when I needed them the most, they abandon me, but when they needed me, I was always there, being a fool and running to them in need."

A L A Z N E

"Alazne, why were you in that Roder's room? If something was suppose to happen to you —"

I interrupted her, "Nothing was going to happen to me," I reply back "He isn't a monster."

I fold my arms around my chest, "What makes you so certain that your safe?" She ask me, slamming her hands on her wooden desk.

"What's makes you think he won't kill you? What makes you so special that he isn't going to lash out and kill you like the rest?"

Honestly, I didn't know my self.

I raise an eyebrow as I remember her question, 'What makes you so special that he isn't going to kill you like the rest?'

"Wait — he kill other people?"

She ignore my question, standing up from her desk and dusting off her skirt before leaving.

I bite my bottom lip as I sit there, thinking.

Although she told me not to, I couldn't help to go look for him.

I was that stupid.

I get up from the chair, and left searching for room 63.

I open the door, peeking my head through searching to see if my mother is in there which she wasn't.

I step in, his gaze from the window change as he stare at me.

His brown eyes glance at me, it was only then that I realize — he wasn't trying to harm anyone, but if the shoe fits, he'll do it.

He knew what's like to be left behind, specially by his family.

Giving the fact that his medical documents said his father is dead and his mother more away from her own son, I understand why he was so.

He was lonely in here.

Trap.

Why would he allow someone to come alone, throwing around love, until he really need it and left.

He was afraid to be hurt yet the numbness in his eyes tell me that he have been hurt many times than can count on the finger.

"Why the fuck are you back in here?" I didn't reply to his question, instead, I lock the door before walking up to his bed.

"Roder —"

"Don't call me that," He growl at me "Someone I knew ages ago had that name, and you know what?"

"What?" I ask him back.

He said something under his breath, low enough that it could've passed for a whisper, but loud enough for me to hear it.

"He was a fucking monster."

I bite my bottom lip, thinking about what I should say in this situation. I had to be careful, also which made it harder.

"I like Roder. Although I hardly know him, I think he's pretty cool just misunderstood sometimes."

"Too bad Roder doesn't give a fuck what you think about him."

Wow.

I sigh, "How are you doing today?"

"I'd be doing better when you leave."

I nod, "If that's your request." I unlock the door, taking one step out but before I could take another, Roder stopped me.

"Wait," He said, stopping me in my tracks.

I whirl around and face him and he sigh, taking his fingers through his hair.

"Can you.. help me untie these ropes?" I smile when I heard him said that. His voice soft as he asked.

"I can't look through the window without straining." He continue as I approach him.

I nod, searching all over the bed for where the knot was but not finding it.

"It's under the bed, in the middle." Roder said after seeing my questionable look.

"Who ties you up anyways?" I raise an eyebrow, reaching under the bed and untying it.

"Your mom." He whisper.

My heart slowly drop as I heard the words — but why would she do it?
