He was sad.
Most of the time he'll just glance through the window, glancing down at all the things he missed during his childhood.
He was lonely.
Not a single visitor, not a single person coming to visit him and ask if he was okay.
But that was norm...

"Deeply unhappy, still living to find a reason."

"Outside's so cold," Alazne said as she walk into my room, trembling.
She smile, "It's so much warmer in here!" She said, dropping down on the couch.
She raise an eyebrow at me as I glance at her and back out through the window.
"What's up? How's your day?" She ask but I didn't say anything.
"Huh?" She kept on talking, "Are you good?" She walk up to me sitting next to me on the bed as she try to grain my attention.
I bite my bottom lip, "I need your help." I whisper to her, turning away from the window.
"With what?" She ask.
"Just.. help me get out this hospital."
"Ro —" She sigh "You can't."
I nod, "Then I'd just have to do it myself." I got up from beside her and left the room.
"You can't!" She whisper yell as she run after me.
She grab my hand — "Fine." She look back and forth, making sure no one saw us.
"I'll help you," She mumble.
"Just be careful and follow me." She intertwine her small yet soft hand into mine as we tiptoed across the hallway on the red carpet.
I pull away my hand from her, uncertain and unsure to if I could trust her or not.
But by the looks of it, it didn't bother her. She seemed fine.
She stopped pointing to a door, "That's the back door." She whisper.
She turn the door knob, "Shh, it's locked!" She whisper yell before pulling out a hair pin from her pocket and jamming it into the door.
She turn and turn, until the door finally opened.
She sigh, swiping away the invisible sweat from her forehead.
"There." She said.
I rush out the door, running into the severe snow storm.
"Roder!" She shouted, her voice fading as I go further and I could no longer see her or where I was going.
I stand in the middle of the storm, glancing around the place yet seeing nothing except for silver.
I bite my bottom lip, "Shit." I was lost but going further, I hear the sound of the cat that I saw through the window earlier.
I smile, I guess I wasn't lost then.
I follow the sound, the voice of cries getting louder and louder until the black and white cat come into view.
"Grab my hand." I said but the cat run away from me.
"Dammit," I say as I send a hand through my hair. I whirl around to a chuckle.
I glance at Alazne who had the black and white cat snuggled in her arms.
I faintly smile at the cat, getting to hear one more "Meow," Escape her mouth before dropping to the floor.
My eyes flutter shut as Alazne scream 'Roder' over and over.
Don't care how much times I told her not to call me that, she still did.
It was pointless trying to get something through her head.

I widen my eyes as I wake up at the end of the hospital bed.
I sit up, glancing down at the redhead and the small black and white kitten who was curled up in a ball in the middle.
Both of them slept so peacefully, a warm smile on both of they faces.
Alazne drool drop on the bed, but for the first time — I didn't feel like shouting off her head.
I let it go.
I turn my gaze to the hot cocoa in the white mug on the bed side table with a note stick to it saying, 'For the amazing Roder I know' with a heart at the side.
I couldn't help but smile, glancing back at her before taking a sip of the hot cocoa.
"You like it?" Her eyes open — connecting with mine as they light up.
I stir the hot cocoa, taking another sip of it — craving every bit of the sweetness.
I shrug, "It isn't bad." I reply making her frown.
I chuckle as I ruffle her hair, "But it's just right."
