Shawn had been distant lately. I've noticed how he doesn't hug me when he comes over, and he doesn't kiss me as much anymore.

"Shawn?" I ask.
"What?"
"Did I do something wrong?"
"No, why?"

"It's just y-you have been so distant lately."
"Oh, I'm sorry. We'll do something later. I'm gonna go hangout with Ellie. Lock up when you leave. I'll be back later."
"Shawn-" I said, but before I could finish, he was already out the door.

My heart broke.

I still haven't left Shawn's house. We are supposed to hangout tonight.

I was sitting on the couch, when Shawn opened the door. He was surprised to me, but I brushed it off. Ellie was with him.

"Oh, hey, Ellie."
"Hey." she said, looking at her phone.

"Hey, Beki."
"Shawn." I nodded.

I'm gonna get pizza. I'll be back in a few minutes. Do you want the  regular, B?"
I nodded.
He nodded and left.

After he drove away, Ellie stood up and walked towards me.

"Listen, Shawn is mine."
"W-what?"
"You heard me. He's mine."
"But I'm his girlfriend-"
"Not anymore. Not after what he'll see when he gets back." she said, smirking.
"What?"

"Nothing." she said, walking into the bathroom.

I stood there confused, but brushed it off. I sat down on the couch and scrolled through Twitter.

"Hey, babe." Shawn said, putting the pizza on the table.
I smiled.

"Where's Ellie?"
"I don't know." I shrug, looking back down at my phone.
"Beki, where is she?" he asked a bit more firm.

"I'm telling you, I don't know. She went to the bathroom a while ago."
He rolled his eyes and went upstairs.

You're hurting me, Shawn.

"Beki!" I heard Shawn scream.

I quickly ran upstairs.

Ellie had 'bruises' all over her body. She was laying on the bathroom floor crying.

"Why did you do this to her?" Shawn yelled.
"What? You think I did this?"
"Who else would do it? You're the only one here!"

"Shawn, I didn't hit her!"
"Y-yes you d-did." Ellie whimpered.

Shawn lifted her gently off the ground and held her close to his body.

"S-Shawn I didn't hurt her. I-I promise-"
"I don't want to hear it." he said, angrily, pushing pass me.

I watched him walk into his room, laying Ellie on the bed.

He walked back to me and began screaming hurtful things at me.

"But I didn't do anything to her!" I cried.
"Clearly, you did! You're so clingy! This is why I always liked her better!"

Then, he did something I never would have thought he would do.

He hit me.

I fell on my back and my head hit the wall.

I sat up and rubbed my head.

The physical pain didn't hurt as much as the mental pain. The worst part was he didn't even seem sorry that he hit me.

"I think you should leave. I've been cheating on you for the past few months. She's way better than you."

I quickly ran out of his house and away from the love of my life.

Quickly crossing the street, I got into my car and drove to my art studio. Because it was hidden within a forest, I turned the flashlight on from my phone and made my way into the studio.

I sat in there for what felt like hours so I could pretend everything that happened was a nightmare.

My phone rang a couple times, but I ignored it.

I never cried, but I loved Shawn. He was-is my everything.

SHAWN'S POV:

I was hanging out with Ellie when I got multiple texts and a phone call from Malek, Beki's friend.

"What?" I ask.
"Do you know where B is?"
"No, I don't care where she is."
"Shawn, is everything okay?"
"Yes, now goodb-"
"Hold on! She told me she was with you tonight! She's not answering her phone!"
"Malek, I don't care about her! She's the worst person ever."

Then, Malek hung up.

I rolled my eyes and threw my phone on the bedside table.

"Let's have some fun, Shawn." Ellie laughed.
I bit my lip.
"Maybe later. Let's take things slow."

Time skip (the next morning)

Your POV

Today I told myself I'm going to pretend last night never happened.

I walked across the street and into Starbucks, ordering my usual.

As I opened the door to leave, I heard a scream. Looking to my right, I saw Ellie and Shawn. I bit my lip, trying to get away from them, but before I could cross the street, Shawn grabbed me.

He began to yell and he kept pushing me.

He pushed my shoulder, hard, causing me to lose my balance and fall into the street, a car speeding towards me. I heard Shawn gasp and I felt the impact of the car against my body.

I woke up in a hospital bed. Someone was holding my hand, and I looked at who it was, my heart broke. Shawn.

"Beki?" he asked, his face drenched in tears.
I squeezed his hand.

"Beki, I'm so so sorry." he said, breaking down.
"Shawn-"
"I know what happened. Ellie told me everything. I'm so sorry. That night when I did all those things, I'm sorry. I never cheated on you, I just wanted to hurt you at that time. I'm so sorry for not trusting or believing you. This is all my fault. I hurt you. I'm sorry. If you give me one more chance, I promise to not hurt you anymore. I'm a monster. I'm so so sorry-"
"Shawn, breathe."

He stopped talking.

"I appreciate your apology and everything, but I don't think we should get back together."
"Beki-"
"I love you so much, Shawn. Maybe we should just take things slow. I don't want to get hurt again."
He nodded.

"I love you, Beki."
"I love you too."
