SHAWN'S POV
As I looked around the cafe for inspiration, my eyes landed on the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. She wore an apron and was walking around the cafe taking orders. I wanted to talk to her, so I put my coffee under the table on my seat. The previous waiter forgot to take my menu. It took a bit, but she noticed I still had a menu.

"Hi! I'm y/n and I apologize for the wait. What can I get you?"
"Hi, I'm Shawn and you can give me a few minutes to talk to you?"
"Oh, um, I-I'm sorry, but I have to work right now-"
"When do you get out?"
"Later tonight."
I nodded. "I'd really like to get to know you. You seem super sweet."
She smiled and said, "Hold on a second." She walked away and went into the kitchen area. She came back out with a small croissant.
"It's on the house." she smiled as she placed down the plate.
"Thank you."
She nodded and said, "Do you need anything else?"
"No, I'm good. Thank you."
"Of course. I'll see you around." she said, taking my menu.
I nodded and she went back to work.
I smiled to myself.

After I finished my coffee and the croissant, I stood up and left the cafe.

I had a few errands to run and met up with some friends. I kept in mind that the cafe closed at 9. I watched the clock all day and waited for it to be 8:30.

I was at a friend's house when I realized it was 8:45.

"Oh, hey, um dude, I have to go now. Thanks for having me over. We should do this again sometime, yeah?"
"Yeah, of course. I'll see you around."
I nodded and thanked him before driving back to the cafe.

I stood outside the cafe, waiting for her. It was 9, but she hadn't come out yet. I began pacing back and forth until I heard the front door open.

I tucked my hands into the pockets of my pants and smiled at her.

"Oh, hey you. I didn't think you would stay and wait up?"
"Oh, no I was doing something earlier. I just wanted to stop by."
"Aw, that's sweet."
I smiled.

"So, um, do you need a ride?"
"If you don't mind?"
"Of course I don't. Come on." I said, opening the car door for her.
"Thank you."
I nodded.

"So where to?" I asked, putting my seatbelt on.
"Wherever you want."
I looked at her, confused.

"I don't know why I'm trusting you, but I feel spontaneous right now, so just take me wherever you want."
I thought about what she said.

"I gotta a good place. I go there all the time."
She nodded and I began driving.

"I feel like we should get to know each other." she said.
"That's a good idea. I'm Shawn Mendes and I'm 20."
"I'm Y/f/n y/l/n and I'm 20 also."
"Cute name."
"Thank you."

We talked for the remaining time about ourselves and shared stories.

She told me all about her family and about her fears and dreams. She has a pet. She likes reading.

"Okay, we're here." I announced.
"Woah." she said, stepping out of the car. She began walking around.

"It looks so much prettier at night." I said, sitting down.

We were on top of a little closed off mountain. It had roads, but not many people knew about it.

"This is my thinking place." I said.
She sat down next to me, leaning her head on my shoulder.

"I get so much inspiration here."
"It's really pretty."
"Like you." I said.

She looked at me.

"Do you really think I'm pretty?"
I nodded.
"Why?"
"I don't know."
"Solid answer." she said. We laughed.

I stared at her as she looked up at the stars.

"Would it be wrong if I kissed you right now?"
She shook her head, leaning in.

"Shawn! Wake up!"
I shot up, rubbing my head.

I looked around me. Please tell me she wasn't just a dream. I repeated. Realizing I dreamt about the whole thing put me into a bad mood. I sighed and decided to grab a coffee at the local cafe. When I looked up from my notebook, I saw a girl that looked almost exactly like the girl in my dream.
