Greg's P. O. V.

The next few days passed in a flurry. Since it was the weekend, Mom decided to give the house a massive spring cleaning to welcome Charlotte. Everyone had a part, even Manny. He used the spray bottle to spray the windows, which Rodrick and I had to wipe. We even dusted the attic, for some reason. By the end of the two day cleaning fever, I can safely say that I have had enough exercise for 2 months.

Charlotte is coming today in about 5 minutes' time. I could see a radical change in Mom, she used to be just so meh, but now she's become more cheerful and nice, that probably happens when you don't see your kid in a long time. I like the now version of Mom, though.

I've been doing a lot of thinking about my sister. My younger sister, my twin. How will she be like? Nice? Weird? Popular? Honestly I just hope it isn't some nerd or a duplicate Patty Farell. I've told Rowley about Charlotte, and he was kind of confused. He actually thought Mom had an affair, but I quickly knocked that idea out of his head.

Rodrick has been really weird too, moping around the house and randomly touching stuff, as if he thought he was in a dream and wanted to confirm that he wasn't. I guess it happens, when you realize your life was kind of a lie. Being adopted, having his dad killed in an accident, I can't even imagine what happened to his mom. Dad, I mean the non-biological one, may not share my common interests, but I can't imagine him k_____.

Manny is just pretty much the same, but happier. Maybe he needs another person to say "I'm only twee!" to. Dad has been amazingly calm about it, but I guess everything is alright.

Ding! Dong!

Shoot. The doorbell just rang. Charlotte and Dad may be here now. I started getting the jitters, just like when I took the mid year exams. I thought about answering the door since no one seemed to be rushing there. Just then, Mom dashed to the door and everyone followed suit, and took their places on the sofa like elegant gentleman. Damn, I forgot about the welcome plan. Clumsily, I plopped down next to Rodrick, who looked like he was going to have a vomiting fit.

"Hello! So good to see you again in person, Bob. And look at you, Charlotte, so beautiful and tall!" Mom's voice rang out. My stomach lurched, oh my oh my oh my.

This was getting real.

"Do come in and stay for a while. Frank and the boys are dying to see you!" With that, Mom ushered Charlotte and my dad into the living room. Dad (non bio) immediately greeted Dad, this is getting really confusing. Dad (bio) was a really tall guy at about 1.73m and he was pretty good looking, but I guess I got the American genes. Once I finished observing him, I turned to my sister. Man, I really shouldn't have.

Calling her a beauty was an understatement.

She was the prettiest girl I have ever seen. She was like Holly Hills, Natasha Brooks, and the rest of my class' "hotties" (that's what the popular boys in my class call them) combined, multiplied by ten. They obviously have to revise their criteria for hotties when Charlotte goes to my school. Her features were an exotic blend of Asian and American. Her dark brown eyes, wavy brown hair, Asian nose, I could go on forever. Her hair was neatly tied up to a ponytail, and her sense of fashion was awesome. Clad in long jeans and a jumper with a cute bear, I just don't get how she's related to me.

"Gregory! It's been a long time since I saw you. Last time I checked, you were the size of half my arm." my father said, though with a hint of sadness in his eyes. Stumped by shock and awkwardness, I gave a weak smile and stuttered, "H-hi um, dad."

Mom gasped. Her eyes started to fill with tears, proud that her son said something so lovely. I flushed red, realising how awkward this was getting.

"Why don't we all have a seat, you guys must be tired, jet lag and all. Susan baked some chocolate chips, I heard that it's Charlotte's favourite." Dad (Frank) said, obviously having same thoughts as me. Charlotte, upon being mentioned, grinned shyly. Man, she sure looks like an angel when she smiles.

We all munched in silence for a minute, Rodrick shoving his by the whole. Just then, Dad (Dad will be the biological one and Frank will be the "foster" one) spoke up.

"So, Gregory, how are you these days, what are you hobbies?"

"I like to play video games and going to the arcade with my friends." I replied, though Mom had to cut in and embarrass me.

"You mean, play a bit too much till your grades suffer." Mom said, shooting me a slight glare. I rolled my eyes internally. Great. Now my dad will have a bad impression of his own son. Dad laughed, "Oh that's alright, as long you get above B it's fine, but play in moderation, ok?" I nodded my head, surprised. I know this sounds weird, but my dad is so cool, getting to know him a bit.

The adults talked about their own lives, kids just sat there, looking at each other. I turned to Rodrick and he was transfixed at Charlotte, who was staring into blank space while munching on her cookie.
